Yet another warning to those selling pups On Peppy's first birthday, I called Claire, the lovely lady from whom I bought Peppy, she was not the breeder, but a lovely lady who bought a Yorkie and found out she had much more than she barganed for and could handle. I was the lucky one who became Peppy's forever mommy. I had promised to call Claire and tell her Peppy's adult weight and in turn she was going to get the weight of Peppy's brother. Anyway......this is the what Claire told me about Peppy's brother..... The little guy was returned to the breeder because the new owner could not take care of him. Being way too generous, the breeder refunded all of the money. While she was showing the puppy to new prosepctive parents, her phone rang. The breeder walked into the next room was only gone a few minutes and when she returned...... the CROOKS and the PUPPY were gone gone gone. The breeder believes that it was a set up. What a heart break. But now we all have a warning...... NEVER, EVER LEAVE THE ROOM WHEN SHOWING PUPPIES! I guess this is a no-brainer for most folks, but where we live, people tend to be reputable and honest. It is always good to learn from other's mistakes. |
crooks and dishonesty is something that i just can not tolerate. makes you wonder what they did with the pup after they took it. |
That is sad :( I feel badly for the generous breeder. No good deed goes unpunished I guess :'( Stewie's breeder let me leave the premises with Stewie before I gave him any money. Strange, I know, but I didn't think anything of it. |
WOW, thanks for THAT warning!!!!!! |

That is so scarry and mean  Last year a lady is So Calif was robbed by a home invasion robbery. They not only took the 5 yorkie pups they took the 2 mommy dogs too. It is scarry, and I do take alot of precautions. The cops got the robbers and the dogs, except 1 pup died. we all have to be careful.... |
how in the world can people be so heartless? |
I don't have a clue...... Most folks are honest and good and kind... but the few that are dishonest spoil it for all of the rest. This happened in Washington State, in a small town, so east coast, west coast, north, south, big town small town, we must all be villigent to protect our little ones. |
Wow thatnks for the warning. |
Wow thanks for the warning. |

whoa! too close for comfort for me! |
familar thing happend to a friend that raised exotic cats, people came to visit the cats in the early morning said they would be back the next day with the cash. They staked out her place until she left in the afternoon, when she came back two cats were stolen. |
I guess it's just something most of use don't even think could happen because we don't think that way. Oh how terrible to find out that they were gone, could you imagine. It's not the moeny it's you don't know where that little guy is going to end up. It's just another "heads up" for breeders to watch out for. Something as innocent as a phone call could change your life... |
Crazy! WOW! I can't believe that. That is terrible. Thanks for the warning, although I do not EVER leave the visitors alone with my Yorkies, it's a good wake up call to all of us to remember what wackos are out there. I lock all my doors to my house even when I go for a bike ride because I fear someone will walk in and steal my babies. That was something that happend locally to a Bull Dog breeder, someone walked into their house and took the puppies they had. Thankfully, in that case, those crooks were caught! We can NEVER be too careful. Hugs, Irene |
Its a sad and crazy world out there. We have a few puppy stores here (no I don't buy my dogs there!) But anyway there are reports that people got away with stealing their puppies! I don't know how they do it, but they have lost around 3 dogs. |
