One URL born her xrays were suposed to be today it came soo fast within 15 minutes she's nesting more now little girl on heating pad and placenta is still in

Is plecentia out? Need to call vet? Any more pups? Are you ok?

Placenta is just hanging there should I pull it when she contacts? I herd 5 heart beats we only have had one happy healthy girl and she's jut hanging out. 1045 when girl was born now just nesting. She only day 59 I can squeeze. A liyttle milk out but is it enough. Puppy won't latch so she on heating pad ?

you can try to grab it w a washcloth for grip...and gently pull with the contractions..but she will more then likely push it out with the next babies comes down


i leave babies with moma..but keep them from her "who ha"..she can get a little frustrated when they start moving down there..

more milk will come ..just like us its the clostum

Is she still in labor :confused: or is she done? I'm just confused because you said you heard 5 heartbeats.... I hope everything is ok....

She did great! Free welped 7 puppies and 3 were breach no problems at all except she has only passed 2 placentas... That I saw. 4 girls and 3 boys from 1045 to 3:20 today. Any advise on large litters I'm worried they aren't all latching and she hasn't wanted welping putting so I gave her cottage cheese and fed her wet dry kibble. Smallest girl at 3.6 oz and biggest boy 5 oz. Need all big litter advice love y'all for such support!

Congratulations on your new litter. Since you did not see all the placenta you really need to watch her close and monitor her temperature. Most likely all the placentas will pass but you really don't know. If she starts running a temperature you will need to get her to the vet.

Since it is a large litter you might have to help supplement the pups a little. I recommend a formula with canned goats milk using half goats milk and half distilled water or boiled water.

In paragraph 10 is a recipe for glucose drops you can give to the puppy. I have used these drops a number of times on small puppies and I feel they really do help.

To get the puppies to latch you can put a little karo syrup on the moms nipples and that might help them to latch.

You will need to make sure momma eats three or four big meals a day. She will also need a calcium supplement. Hopefully you already have some on hand.

Mom normally weighs 5.5-6 lbs but she has long legs and long torso in my opinion, dad was 2 lbs and compact.

I'm thinking of seperating them into two groups of feed, if I weigh every 4-6 hours what is the ideal weight gain?

She used the restroom and passed some placentas, hopefully the rest next time.

I just keep worrying about there being 7, and her being early and not so much milk that they won't flourish. If I supplement with goat milk and water with a syring would that help, and can I find salt substitute at grocery store for the corn syrup salt supplement?

Yes, you can find the salt supplement at the grocery store. I have a litter of seven right now that are almost 6 weeks old. In the beginning I just used the glucose supplement on the 3 tiniest ones and I used a syringe to give the goats milk. My momma is 8 lbs and she had lots of milk so after 4 or 5 day all the pups were gaining nicely and I did not need to supplement them. I just concentrated on making sure mom had plenty to eat. Pups usually lose a little right after they are born but after that they should gain a little each day. Are all the pups latching on now?

Just an update- everyone is doing great, the smallest have gained about 9gs since born and the biggest and average is about 15-20 grams, today is day 3 since birth. Have to keep especially close eye on two but other than that they are great!

How often do y'all weigh the pups and what us ideal growth in weight?

Rafael passed all placntas so we are in clear with that, her current diet is about 5 times a day of wet/dry dog food w puppy kibble about a handful, a chicken breast divided into two meals, cottage cheese when shell take it, Which is about a teaspoon or two a day. I can't get her to drink the goats milk egg yolk welping reciepe unless there is icecream in it and I've managed to crush a tum in there too- which I'll feed just the icecream and goats milk Reciepe in a half cup measuring cup 2 maybe 3 times... Going to pick up stuff for the pudding today.

She doesn't like the scrambled egg. And I've got the calcium supp on order. Any other tips on getting her to eat or something else to feed?

She has diarrhea today and I am a little apprehensive because she is kinda wobbly when she finally goes out to restroom. I am keeping an eye out for eclampsia as she has 7 pups. Any advice there? Other than that everything seems great!

Thanks for the update. I am glad all the babies are doing well. Just keep doing what you are doing. I feel that good puppy food is your best bet. To much milk and other things could contribute to her diarrhea. Have you tried the canned Pedigree puppy food or the canned Pedigree Healthy Digestion? My mommas really like those and the Pedigree chunky chicken and chopped chicken.

Again, as I have said before, I have never fed goats milk or whelping pudding to any of my females. I just don't feel a lot of sugar is good for them. A little bit won't hurt but her main diet should be a quality puppy food. I hope you get your calcium supplement soon, she really needs it and not tums.

I just talked to breeding mentor in town and she has an extra bottle of.... Petcal I think? I this stuff good I'm picking it up in an hour
