unethical breeder! What do I do? I know for a fact that a well known breeder who goes on and on about ethics about bloodlines, size guarantees, registered, temperament, training her 24 hrs a day love and socialization even never removing from the mother before 12 weeks of age is all Bul....t! Even the location of the breeding and where the pups are whelped and raised! I'm not talking about a little fudging either! How do I stop this! |
The best way to stop an unethical breeder is to hit them in the pocketbook. I would say get all the facts, have documentation proving that your information is 100% accurate and then expose by naming names, and sharing the proof. |
Un-Ethical Breeder I too ran into so called "breeder" who turned out to be nothing but a crook who used poor innocent pups to make a buck. I really had a tough time putting out the name of her business-I worried about not being 100% sure that I had the right breeders name and what she "told" me over the phone was actually true. Regardless, I called animal control immediately. This woman ended up exposing herself on YT. Put the name of the "breeder" out there. If you don't feel comfortable with that...PM me and I will. Vicki We have a woman up in the Temecula area that goes by "SweetYorkieKisses" that is a unethical-"breeder." Let me know! |
I have much of this. I have web sites saved, dated, quotes, contracts and I am the source of the advertised pup (without my knowledge) that is 9 weeks not 12, she has never seen him, will be between 5-7 lbs based on current weight and Dam is pure but not registered. She has well described him as a papered tiny tiny teadybear faced doll and has a buyer for $2500. With all the other cut and paste bs garb. Certainly not ethical. Where is the best way to expose? On this site or is there a governing agency? |
Right here is a good start. When anyone googles her name - it'll come up. |
interesting and very sad.... |

I think lists of bad breeders do very little except show us what signs to look for, I mean I think most people are missing the point, there are very few ethical breeders, most breeders are breeding for profit, not to improve the breed. |
Many Many people come onto this site, including me, to become educated and talk to people who have experience with yorkies. This is a site where we need to "know" the good, bad, and ugly. I think it is the individual's responsiblilty to decide whether or not the breeder is reputable. But it would really disgust me to know that unethical breeders are on here preaching one thing and practicing another..bait and switch I believe is what it is called..I would hate to keep seeing good people who want a healthy pet get taken advantage of..Thank you :) |

I am in the process of finding my first Yorkie and doing my best to deal with a reputable breeder. I mad the mistake a few year's ago of buying a maltese from a BYB and, all I can say is, what a mistake. This morning I posted for help on finding the right yorkie. I guess now I would like to ask for bad breeders. If any of you know someone that I should stay away from please send me a PM. Thanks! .......................Pat |
I'm starting to get real curious as to who is this mystery breeder. I hope the OP comes back and let's us know who it is and their experience. |
