Because a big male should not be bred with a tiny/small female. His weight is not right for breeding. Her dog in the avatar also looks like he has floppy ears, course hair, and very long legs. She says for two years she's been asked, if so and if that photo is current, her Yorkie is not standard at all and should NOT be bred.

That is most definitely a Doberman pup. I was wondering why everyone kept saying he was cute but looked funny that made me laugh because it's a Dobie..hehehe.. She just got it.

I also have to say that she knew when she got this yorkie he was going to be to big and even wanted to sell him or trade for a smaller one. ( I went back and read threads she started trying to find a pic of her yorkie, never did)..

I am glad she kept him but he is way to big to breed unless your going to breed him to another big yorkie. Then the puppy you keep is most likely going to be to big as well.

I have one that is 10 pounds, a female, that we got from my husbands co-worker.. What he did was dump his problem in our laps! She is being spayed next week. SHe can be one nasty bitch let me tell ya! Not to us, but to male strangers and to the other dogs. I KNOW having her spayed is going to help because since she went out of heat she has calmed down 80%.

And I can also say that you can never get a male to stop marking once he starts, I can promise you that. I have a wonderful male dog who I have owned for 6 years but when I have a bitch in heat he will lift on everything and I have to put a wrap on him. The female doesn't even have to be IN the house. they can smell them up to a mile away.

I call it "ruining a dog" when you use them for breeding. No I don't really think Ripley is ruined, I love him. But in a way he is ruined because he will always mark, even if neutered because it is also habit. Of course it is possible to train them to stop, but not very probable.

I am not against breeding, I breed myself. But I feel strongly about being responsible when doing so.
