someone please tell me I really wanted my furbaby to have puppy's had her at the vet yesterday he said she was to small and it would not be good for her to have puppy's she is 4 pounds she was in heat in December and she is now in heat again so should i get her fixed are should i try for puppy's i dont know what to do is she to small and why is she in heat so soon again ??????? |
Why would you even consider trying for puppies when your vet has already given you advice on not breeding your female because of her size? Are you prepared to possibly lose her during birth? Are puppies that important to you? She could be having a split heat or she could have a health issue. I would advise you to listen to your vet and not breed your female. I would also have her checked again to be sure everything is o.k. and I would have her spayed at the same time. |

And most breeder try to breed only females that are over 5lbs. |
Have her spayed! Are puppies worth losing your girl? She is too small to breed and your vet has already gave you great advice, listen to him! |
As stated above, a 4lb girl is definitely too small to breed. I would suggest you take your vet's advice and have your girl spayed. Your baby will not be any less lovable if she does not have a litter. :) To be a repsonsible breeder, you need to do extensive research and find a girl who is a quality representation of the breed standard and worthy of producing offspring. There is much more to breeding than mating two dogs. There are many many things that can go wrong, including mom and pups. |
Is the risk to your little girl worth it? Please have her spayed and give her the life she deserves. |

Almost all new mommies have the idea of having grandfurkids, that's normal. After a well done research we find out why it's a bad idea so don't feel bad because you wanted pups. Mom's health risk, overpopulation were some end up in shelters, puppy deaths, etc. Hey some research and decline the idea and some go to become greatbreeders. |
I think you are making a great decision to spay your little girl. It is normal for you to love your dog so much that you want her to have puppies that will be just like her. However, your vet is right. She is too small to have puppies. I know you love her too much to risk losing her and yorkies have tons of problems with pregnancy and birth even if they are larger than your girl. So kudo's to you for coming here and asking before you put your little girl in an unsafe situation. Get her spayed and then look for her a little playmate. You will both be much happier!! Stick around, you will love YT! |
