Mini's 60th day is October 24! I'm hoping it will be Sunday, the 23rd. I shaved her belly this last weekend. But I don't want to cut her long coat, ... wrapping? Is there something else I should be doing? |
1 Attachment(s) Hi, you have a beautiful expectant mom! Ahia looks a lot like Mini - tummy wise, she's due 10/24. Coat looks about the same length. I, also, shaved her belly last weekend. Are you putting her hair up? Wrapping? Banding? Please let me know, I don't want to not do something and be sorry. Hope this belly picture of Mini turns out, she wasn't too happy I didn't give her more notice! |
Mini looks like she Ahia did when taking her picture. "OK , come on, but just one more". actually ahia likes for me to rub her belly and she likes it when i try to listen to heart beats. LOL Mimi looks lie whe will be a good mommy. what a cutie. no, i am not going to do anything special with her hair. I will try to keep it brushed out of the way. she hates having a top knot so i could imagine what she would do if i tried to tie her butt up and out of the way. I think it would be worse. It would be different if she has had it done before. I will try to keep the hair clean and out of the way. |
Hi! i'm not expecting an oct. litter, but i am expecting a november litter. does that count? LOL |

1 Attachment(s) The time is drawing near ....! I did take a second picture of Mini's belly, she had gone back to sleep and ignored me .... but, I love that first picture of "WHAAA ... Do you think you're doing??!!" Does anyone know how long we have to wait before bathing the mom's after whelping? |
November 17. not much of a big belly just yet. she's starting to show a little "pooch pouch" is all. i also need to shave her belly first or you won't be able to see yet, lol! i also have a litter due December 2. we prob won't even attempt to plan any more litters til next summer 06'. Xmas time with puppies in the house is really hectic, lol! but ohhhh the pictures...love love love pics of yorkie babies and xmas trees, presents, ect...love the reds and greens in the pics with their colors. i'm excited. |
November 27 and December 2 - yes, we'll have to wait for the belly pictures! I'm not too sure about Christmas this year.... when I told my hubby Mini would be due October 24th, he thought for a minute and then said, "Great, they'll be ready to go at Christmas!" My first thought was, "Who? Go? Go where? ... Oh no! He's talking about Mini's Babies!" |
I have found that it's not always best to plan litters to be ready at xmas..it just seems to happen that way for me at times, lol. i have found that there are alot of "impulse puppy buyers" out there at xmas who have xmas money and want something different. just be careful when placing pups at xmas and make sure the new owner really has been wanting a yorkie and maybe they just so happen to finally have the money, but don't sell them to anyone who wants them for a "gift" for someone else. usually then the puppy is "sprung" onto the person and its exciting at first, but maybe isnt what they had in mind in the long run. xmas yorkies are wonderful! but just be careful when placing them around the holidays...mine won't be ready until well after xmas on into 2006, so i'm glad about that. looking forward to seeing all these new babies here that are on the way!! |
Robbie Butterfly Yorkies Thank you! You just gave me more to consider. I know that I will be extremely careful placing Mini's puppies ... and I won't be in any hurry to do it! I've already turned some people down and only have one older lady I'm considering ~ and she asked last summer, long before I even bred Mini ~ she just happened to come by when I had both Mini and Mickey here. Thank you for the excellent advice! |

also love the screen name.... |
Yay! We had puppies on Tuesday! (You would think I gave birth to them as excited as I have been.) 2 girls, 2 boys, Momma Trixie is doing GREAT! I am so glad to find this site. I have been talking about her and her pups ever since we knew for sure she was expecting. Everybody around me is just like, "Ok, please shut up already..." I am so glad to find other people to be excited for us!!! I will try to post pictures later...if I am not to stupid to figure out how... |

chipperdancin: Per vet and 2 breeder's advice, we gave Trixie a 'partial bath' (back half) the night she had her puppies. (I don't think keeping her butt matted with all those 'leftovers' would have been healthy.) We were told to use very warm water and very little shampoo. (We used Kid's shampoo w/ conditioner--mild, detangled, anti-bacterial.) She was groomed shortly before the delivery so she has not absolutely had to have a full bath yet. Plus, I don't want to stress her now by trying to put her under a hair dryer so that she will be dry/warm enough to go back to her babies. Good Luck! |

Both mom and pups have a whelping box in the bathroom attached to our bedroom. We started letting Trixie sleep in our room/bathroom about 2 weeks before she delivered. (Normally, she sleeps with her pal, our Basset, Flash, in our spare bedroom...but we changed that when she started trying to eat poor Flash's head off!) We figured that was the best place because 1) they aren't disturbed cause we have another bathroom we can use, 2) that makes 2 locked doors my 4 yr old daughter would have to get through, and 3) it's only a few feet away from where I lay my head. Sleeping on the floor doesn't sound fun...oh wait, I did that for a while the night before Trixie delivered when she ws shivering, panting and scared. |
Congratulations to all the new mommies and soon to be mommies. I love the pics of the Mommy's bellies and the pups. TY so much for sharing. Oh I dont breed, i live that jon to you guys. |
I haven't contributed to this yet, because I'm not breeding but I love to read the stories. Congratulations to everyone that has delieverd or is soon to be. BamaFan, those are precious little ones, I bet your in heaven. I'm going to keep watch!... |
