Some nervious moms don't like other dogs around and will try to hide or kill the babies if they feel threatened. Just keep all dogs away from her and the babies. If she seem comfortable in what she is in now and the pups seem warm then I would leave her be. You can drape a sheet or blanket over part of the hole to close it up more. If you see mom panting to much it mean she is to warm. Remove the sheet or blanket so she can get more air. Moms for the first few weeks are very protective about their babies so leaving her alone for now might be a good idea. Just quick peek to see babies are OK but I wouldn't be handling them to much until she get through her over protective stage. Good luck with the other 2 babies. |
