The bitch could not have been sold "Limited regs AND no papers". The breeder kept the papers...limited or full makes no matter, the owner has neither.. The bitch was sold without papers and the breeder should have had a contract stating what the terms of the sale, but they left the door open for more money later... Perhaps, the breeder orally said, no breeding...but you have to look at this from a legal angle and AKC's side of it. Oral contracts are ethically binding IMO, but AKC does not recognize oral contracts...they only care how the papers are marked...when none are given with the sale of the pupp, they are not happy about it...they get no revenue from the sale. Buyer bred the bitch...the breeder is quite willing to change the registration for more money..it is all about the money...I would spay my bitch without papers, place my pups and not register them...the breeder can sit with his hand out until the cows come home. |

Our breeders entrust with a lot. i know what i have in my lines (Rothby, Durrer and trying to add Ozmilion), i have to be careful to who i sell. i Dont want somebody throwing my line down to the tube because of the BYB trash that they bred with. We work hard to ensure our lines are excellent, so we should have say in the breeding! |

I've only sold one show dog......and she went to my breeder to ask her if it was ok with her to buy the dog from me......She doesn't make a move without asking both of us...... There are so many that want to breed that are pedigree hunters, will go the back door to obtain them. You can pretty much spot them by their websites by what they put on them. |
I wont sell without my sire's breeder's permission and she helps me decide everything with my dogs. thats what mothers are for. Plus, me being in the navy, i need her help alot when im out to sea. i ask my buyers where they work and how much they make and how much they are in debt, that way i can decide if they can afford everything with the pup they are buying. i also ask to speak to their vet. i have had to turn a couple of people away because of this:thumbup: |
