By Looking at your picture's You yorkie does not look like the standard. She actually look's like a silky to me With that alone & not having papers i would not breed her. |
Quote:
she is pure breed... the only reason she doesnt have papers is because her parrents didnt get their papers because the owner didnt believe in papers and hadnt planned on breeding them... and no im not trying to get a cheap dog I dont see why if someone wants to have a litter why people think im trying to scam or make money... WHY ARE PAPERS SO IMPORTANT? Why does it seem like its being said that it makes my dog not as important or special because she doesnt have papers... that doesnt mean that she is not as smart, beautiful, loving, carring, loyal, exc. as any other dog with papers... there should not be any problem with sharing my wonderful dog with the world and giving other people the joy I have and get with my dog. She is a great dog and I think there is nothing wrong with sharing her with other familys... with that being said.... yes there are many papies, dogs, exc. in pounds, kennals, out on the streets exc. Im sorry for that I would take everyone of them and give them love if I could... but I cant and not everyone wants to rescue them and that sucks... I do what I can volintering where ever i can and whatever... but just because there are lots of dogs without homes doesnt mean that no one should breed their own dog if they wanted to or be accused of money scams or getting cheep puppies.... and now ranting off that note... there are thosands of orphin kids in the world so should I not have a kid because there so many without homes... my pets are people... and as a matter of fact sometime i treat them better than people... they are equals to me and if i have the right to have kids and even though i dont have any paper stating that i am full blooded white person with blonde hair and blue eyes should mean that i cant have kids with someone with brown hair... and that is wrong... I guess i dont understand why papers are so important when i dont think it makes any dog nessisarily better than anyother dog... I love my Alice... papers or no.... and wouldnt traid her with a dog with papers or would have looked over her for a different dog that has papers... I dont see why papers are so important for a family dog.... |
Reputable breeders breed to the standard and they only breed dogs with papers. So it sounds like you want to be a byb. Dont we have enough of those in this world? |
Not having papers does not make any one dog better than the other.....unless you are speaking in terms of breeding them. Then it does. If you do not see the importance and they don't matter to you, then that is just one difference of opinion between yourself and the way reputable breeders view the matter. |

There not important for a family dog but you want to breed Then they become important. |

In shelters alone, approximately 3-4 million cats and dogs are euthanized every year. It is hard to get a completely accurate answer, because not all shelters report, or are required to report all euthanasias. That ball parks in about 80,000 per week. WHY would you want to add to the overpopulation of dogs? |
Every time I see one of my girls through the hours of pain of a delivery, the days of pain caused by a c-section, the tear wrenching despair when you take a lifeless puppy away from their side.. I know it's because I asked this of them.. this was my idea, my fault. If things go wrong, it was my doing. My girls do not ask for this, but they comply because they trust me. I either deserve that trust or I don't. I only ask this of the BEST of what we produce, certainly not of all that we produce .. and I only ask it of them for a short period in their lives.. because they trust me. I would never ask this of any of my girls on a whim.. we are dealing with their lives every time they are bred. EVERY time. Breeding is serious business and it has to be taken seriously. Please read all you can, get some videos on whelping.. find someone in your area who can mentor you if you decide to proceed with this. Before you do anything, try and find the real reason you want to breed your girl.. what is your goal.. why are you breeding her? Is it worth possibly loosing her for whatever reason you have? When you can honestly answer those questions.. then read some more. Diana :animal-pa |
Please let me help you understand that by breeding your girl, you will not be getting a puppy for free, or doing any good for your little girl yorkie. I posted already about the nightmare of my last breeding with Diva. Let me further explain that out of the 3 puppies I did sell 2 girls. Both girls sold with a spay contract and were sold for around $450 each, both to great families that have no intentions of ever trying to breed. The male cannot be sold due to the issue with his legs, so he is now my baby. My vet bills just for this litter were $2436.18. After selling the 2 girls for $900, I was left with a bill of $1536.18. So now I spent over 15 hundred dollars and have one male puppy. Seriously, I could have bought 3 or 4 pet quality yorkies for that price, not to mention how many shelter dogs I could have helped with that money. Plus the only reason my bill was a low as it is is because I live in a very rural area and am actually friends with our vet. If you breed your dog, be assured that the "free" puppy you will keep will cost you more that if you just found a good breeder in your area and purchased one. Further more, you could very easily lose your female to one of the many pregnancy related complications that plague yorkies. I knew going into breeding that it was likely going to cost me more than I could ever sell a puppy for. What I did not fully understand was the emotional cost that was involved. I almost lost my beloved Diva. I will live with that guilt for the rest of my life. Your little girl trusts you to do what is best for her. Please think about that the next time you 'think' about breeding her. I'm reminded of the fact that my choices almost killed Diva everytime she cuddles in my lap now. I'll never betray her trust again. |

I understand you completely. In August for the very first time I lost 2 puppies, 1 within 24 hours and the 2nd at 5 days. It was so heart wrenching to see my girl going through what she was going through, the mental agony of knowing her puppies weren't going to make it. As breeders, we make those decisions to put our girls in that position. I have no problem with someone wanting to begin breeding, but I do have a problem if they don't do it correctly. To the Original Poster......I have but one question to ask you "Are You Prepared To Loose Your Girl"? Because it happens more often than not. Being a Exhibitor/Breeder, my studs aren't for public use. But, if they were, I wouldn't allow them to be used on a non-registered female, coming from the best of lines and pedigree. I don't think there are any reputable breeders that would. There are those out there that would allow it.....but, those would be of questionable background.....so, you'd be taking a chance on breeding healthy dogs..... |
First, why would any breeder NOT believe in papers? Papers prove the dogs history - it is not a bad thing to want a dog to have papes. I would't buy a pup with no papers. If you bought your pup from a breeder that did not register the litters then there was probably something shady going on - disease, abuse, puppy mill...who knows but papers are important no matter how you look at it. Second, I don't know of any breeder that would allow their stud to mate with a dog with no papers. You know nothing about the dog if you can't verify it's history. Plus, what I know of Biewer breeders - they don't breed to standard yorkies anyway. They should only be breeding Biewer to Biewer since the Biewer is actually its own breed. I'm afraid I must agree with all the other posters - it is not a good idea for you to breed your little girl. Just enjoy her as a pet. |

That is why the regisration system was started, so people knew that the dog they were getting was a purebred. Without the papers, You don't know. If they are purebred, they can still register them, it is not too late. |

There is some *incredible* advice here, you lucky gal :)! Read it...and then read it again, and then again and again :p. That's my only advice that I can offer here...as the experts have chimed in ...and I'm not a breeder... |
I'm not going to say breed, or don't breed...just read up on it til you feel like a professional breeder & you feel you have all the facts. Because knowing those facts will either save your girl or help you decide if beeding is for you or not. I thought I'd dip my toe in breeding & once I went through it once, realised it wasn't for me. Not because it wasn't lucrative for me, Mimi's pups were sold in a week & I overpriced them because I wanted a family that can afford them a life of spoiling & vet care. I decided to spay Mimi just after one breeding because I couldn't bear the thought of losing her or any of her pups. I also decided I couldn't be a breeder because I worry about the pups too much after they go to their forever homes. She had 5 beautiful pups, more than we expected (vet counted 4 in the x-ray) & she had extensive tests . The stud came from Champion bloodlines, but that doesn't really matter, we just wanted beautiful healthy pups. After going through whelping w/my baby girl, I had a new found respect for reputable breeders. If anything, listen to them. Some may be strong opinions because of their passion & love for the breed...pick out what sounds good & true to you & learn & grow from it.:) |
