Looks likewe ll both be posting xrays results on the same day. What time is your appointment? Mine is at 5:30pm. |
My baby is due in about 1-2 weeks. Judging by her last tie as well. So that would put us around the 23rd indeed. Question: THis is her 3rd heat & 2nd pregnancy. Is it easier the 2nd time around? Do the puppies come faster? |

Wow 2 girls 1 boy...:thumbup:Could not write sooner because I had to assist and help pull them out...She doesn't want me to get away from her..We should have one more left... So far so good.. Thank Goodness:animal36 |
Congrats!!! Hope the other one comes soon. Don't forget to give her calicum. My mother dog had eclampsia and now I am hand raising a litter. Trust me, you really don't want to have to do that. |
Congratulations, yes please give her a calcium supplement starting tonight. if you have vanilla ice cream offer her some during whelping, after she is done you can offer her some whelping puding if you search here you will find the recipie. also don't forget one egg scrambled every day.. very important that mom keeps her calcium up.... my girl had 5 babies two weeks ago and so far so good all the babies are over one pound... again congrats.. if you have any questions just ask.. hugs, Carmen in nj |

And then there was 4!! she's finally here!!..3 girls 1 boy. Yes!! I have read through all these sites alot and took everyones advice..I gave her vanilla ice cream in between..I also gave her cottage cheese. She would only eat off my hand and not out of the bowl. I tried the whelping pudding but she wouldn't drink it. I do have a concern though. I do know that not all moms produce milk while pregnant or before labor, that it can happen right after birth, but I don't see any coming out. I could probably squeeze one of her teats and a little will come out but that's it. I know the little ones need their colestrum in the first 24hrs, so I put them on her anyway just to stimulate the milk. Is their anything else I can do to stimulate production? I do know that I will definately be hand feeding in between to help her out because there are too many for her and I do not want her to go through eclampsia. I just want to make sure they get their fair share of colestrum. I did the beer thing too. Thanks everyone for all the kind words. I appreciate it!! |

you are doing great, as the babies suck her milk production will increase, just make sure she eats 5 meals a day PLUS,a couple of servings of whelping pudding, make sure you giver her at leat one calcium pill a day, half in the morning and half at night, her last meal of the night should be about 10 pm. Plenty of fresh water. the only thing i give my girls is 1/2 a cup of red rabsberry leaf tea, right after whelping and for 3 days after every other day, it helps with uterus clean up and milk production. other than that I do what I discribed above and watch her very closely.. also take her temperature every evening for at leat a week. best of luck.. hugs and congratulations. Thank you so much for the advice. Can I get the red raspberry leaf tea at the grocery store? I just fed the puppies so that they would not over whelm her with the sucking until she gets some strength back. |
