WI Passes Breeder Bill WISCONSIN LEGISLATURE PASSES DOG BREEDER BILL http://origin.ih.constantcontact.com...=1102815377854 Congratulations to our neighbor Wisconsin! On October 27, 2009, the Wisconsin Assembly approved the Commercial Dog Breeders Licensure Bill by a unanimous vote (96 to 0). Then, on November 5, 2009, the Wisconsin Senate, also by unanimous vote (32 to 0), approved the bill to regulate dog breeders. The legislation now moves to the Wisconsin governor for his signature. Good news Like Minnesota, Wisconsin has been trying to deal with inhumane dog breeders for years. The Wisconsin Legislature recognized the problem and took action. This is great news for the animals and people of Wisconsin; hopefully, this will encourage Minnesota legislators to show the same leadership. To learn more, go to: No Wisconsin Puppy Mills Bad news Minnesota is now one of the few remaining states without any state regulation - no licensing, inspections or enforcement. With Wisconsin moving forward, there is a greater chance that irresponsible breeders will cross the border and set up operations in "unregulated" Minnesota. This gives further reason as to why we must all convince Minnesota legislators to pass Senate File 7/House File 253. |
