Go to YTCA.org breeder referral. Then to the regional club section. Ken Lambert, President of Yorkie Club of Greater Oklahoma is listed there.....contact him, he'll direct you to reputable breeders. Ken is a YTCA member, breeder/exhibitor/handler........

Since he may be at shows this weekend, he may not get back to you until Sunday Afternoon. There are some great reputable breeders in your local area....

Mary and Connie were aware she wasn't asking for a show dog. They are simply trying to put the op in contact with someone that can lead her in the direction of a reputable breeder that doesn't necessarily belong to YTCA, but follows the code of ethics and conduct necessary in maintaining thestandard and quality of the breed.

You're right, I don't know her personally to doubt her honesty but from her website there's no way I would refer her - not even to a stranger.

Did you know she's selling and shipping puppies that only weigh a little over a pound? Have your read her guarantee?

And you would still refer her?

No, the OP didn't ask for a show dog but there's no reason not to own a Yorkie that looks like one.

JMO but when you're selling quantity there's little room for quality.

Referring someone out is a big responsibility.....

I stated on another thread, just because one person has a good experience with obtaining their pup, shouldn't be a good enough reason to refer them to someone else. Much to much responsibility to take upon yourself should something go wrong.

You can be a very honest person, but that doesn't make you a responsible breeder.

The only complaint i have read against her was from someone ill because he didn't get one of her pups (he should have made a deposit on it) i would not expect someone to hold for me without a deposit nor would i hold without one.

Betty, I see you have a litter of puppies - which are adorable - so I would think you'd understand the first statement I made. Would you ship them when they're less than 1.7 or 1.2 pounds? I hope not.

As far as the only complaint against her - which I didn't even look up (didn't need to) isn't really indicative of the problems going on there. Some people just don't know better, so they may seem ok with it, but I think we do and should steer new puppy owners in the right direction.

I'm not trying to attack her personally, but I couldn't suggest her as a breeder after reading the information on her website. The weights of the puppies were stated in letters from her own customers. Her guarantee is right there to read.
