Is it ok to leave mom alone with pup when I'm away at work? she seems to be doing really well as a new mom. I'm the one that's scared to death!! The hardest part is over.:animal36

Yes leave the mom with them, she needs to nurse them when your gone.:)

Yeppers, leave the little tyke with mommy. I notice in one of the pictures it looks like you were bottle feeding him. Is there a problem with Mom's milk?

The littlest on can't seem to latch on yet , so i was told to bottle feed him goat milk until he catches on. Is the ok or not, I really knew to all of this, and I'm so greatful for you that know the answers most of the time!!

How old are the pups? I understand that you probably have to go back to work. But, if at all possible is there someone that can come in and take care of mom and the new pups. Especially with the new one having to be supplemented. So, many things can go wrong while you're away.

I usually don't leave the house without someone being here for the first couple of weeks.

The hardest part is not over, your work has just begun. Making sure mom is getting the proper nutrition, pups being moved around on each nipple, making sure they are kept warm and she is diapering them properly. Watching mom for mastitis, eclampsia. With bottle feeding that pup you need to make sure that it doesn't asperate.

How long will mom and babies be left alone? I would be very nervous about leaving them unattended for more than a few hours. So many things can happen. It is very important that you make sure the mom is eating about 4 good meals a day. If she should miss a meal she could get elampsia and that could be life threatening for her.

Canned goats milk should be diluted with water, half water and half goats milk. Have you had the puppy checked for a cleft palate?

I'm coming homeevery 2 1/2 hours to check on them. Thank you for letting know how to mix to goat milk, I had know ideal.

Please know that if you can be home for two weeks with your babies, you are very blessed!! I'm doing all that can do for may babies.

They are eating better as time goes on, even the littlest guy is getting the hang of it.

Yes, the optimum is to be able to stay home before you begin a breeding program. In 2 1/2 hours your girl can become eclamptic and die......a pup can be sat on and sufficated. Just recently on YT a member left for the store and when she came back the pup was dead.

But, if that isn't possible, then maybe there is a possibility of having someone to be with her while you're not. This time is very critical and things happen at a moments notice.
