Fetal monitor ??? I was wondering if anyone used a fetal doppler monitor? Can you hear better and earlier? Will it work on dogs? Just curious have had not had much success with a sethoscope and was looking for a easier way to listen. |
I do use one on my babies because I hear noise with a stethascope but I can't make anything out. It's awesome to hear the heartbeats but also the uterine sounds! Just make sure you get the gel that needs to be used with it or you will get horrible static sounds (I've done that and scared the poor mommas)! I got mine off of ebay, mine is "hibebe". It's ok but it didn't come with the gel and it didn't come with the instruction book so I'm still working with it. It was easy to get the heartbeat on this last litter because there was only one, I started using it on another litter back in April but there was 4 in there and I couldn't make out the different heartbeats. |
How early could you detect the heartbeat? |
it wasn't until about 2 weeks before the due date is when I was able to hear them pretty clearly. |
Thanks.. I was hoping it would be a little sooner than that.. lol She is on day 29. I really want to do the ultrasound but don't want to spend the money and turn around and do an xray around day 50. I thought this would be a way I could detect earlier and use it with all mine. |
lol! That was why I bought it too! |
If she is on day 29, palpation could determine. Has to be done VERY carefully. VERY. |

ROFL... I was just asking my daughter about how much one would cost..lol She told me to try to find a used one and it would be cheaper... hahaha |
lol I've looked. I keep trying to tell DH that it would ONLY cost a few grand for a used one! Good deals out there! But he looks at me like I sprouted a few more heads and shakes his head at me:( |
