Ok, so my little guy is only 3-4 lbs. 1 1/2 years old. Friend has a female and wants them to breed in May. My little man has never "had any" and I'm wondering will it cause him to go around humping everything or be more aggressive if he doesn't get it consistantly? He's so sweet and loving now, don't want a few nights of "romance" to spoil him. Thanks for any and all advice!

Seconday Sexual Characteristics
 
Once you introduce your little guy to the world of breeding, you will most likely deal with secondary sexual characteristics for some time and maybe even forever..... Chances are, he will begin to mark furninture and things he deems necessary, he may have an increase in "humping" things which may include people :p, I've never had a male become more aggressive due to breeding, but there are certainly some behavioral changes.... Just a bit of my 2 cents, even though you didn't ask, so I apologize in advance: Both you and your friend would be better served by finding a really reputable breeder or a hobbist involved in showing in your area and have both of your dogs evaluated. This person could also be a huge help if you do decide to breed... Its always nice to have some backup!

The one big difference I have noticed in my males is training them to go outside is out. They mark on everything in my house. They have to wear belly bands 24 hours a day and they can be stinky.

The only difference I have found with my males is when a female is in actual Season. The testestorne is high and they do tend to go off food and become a bit more testie with eachother. The are still sweet and loving.

What I do suggest is that you have all the required tests performed on your male prior to your breeding. Become familiar with your responsibilities as the owner of the stud and they are many. You have to be as familiar with the breeding and whelping process as the female's owner.

Thought I would throw my two cents in here... we used our toy poodle many years ago just once as a stud and while the pups were gorgeous, we wouldn't do it again. Our only problem really was the marking in the house. But that just about drove me nuts! I recommend to anyone who asks for my advice.... if you don't want these kinds of problems, just keep your little boy as a pet, have him neutured and if you want another puppy, purchase one.
