Well it seems like we ARE pregnant, my son palpate chanel yesterday and said that he can feel 3 or 4 lumps. I only can feel two..LOL so time to dust the whelping box and start getting ready..
I am so excited.. little silkie babies running around for xmas..

What makes a good whelping box and set up? Are they like cats where they want it dark...with a lid? Or just a box/container that has lots of blankets?

This is my whelping box, it worked wonders for my yorkie Jacks and their mom.. they were born in January it was cold and she loved it and I did too.. is plastic easy to clean, the bottom I kept a rugs for softness and a washable pad on top.. very handy.. and warm..

Oh that is a fantastic Idea! Now, the edges where you cut out the opening....is that not sharp? Did she snag on with her belly?

no my hubby filed the edge with a dremmel tool.. to make it rounded and smooth it was a mess of plastic on the deck but worth the cleanup.. you can also use sand paper but the dremmel tool is a lot faster..LOL , when the pupies started climbing out I just put the metal pen around it to keep them in...:D

That metal pen is cute! I've never seen anything like that . . .I also like the storage container idea . . .do you think the mama likes it better than say an under the bed storage container? I was just wondering if having a top on it made her feel more secure as well as keeping out any coldness . ..

thank you, I have never used the under the bed one, so I have no experience with that one, I know that Taffy liked this one and I am hoping that Chanel will too.. :D. the metal pen is cute and very convient to confine the puppies when they start moving around and mom can easely jump over to do her business out and then go back when she wants..:)

Hey everyone. We are on day 36 and here are some pictures. Any ideas on how many? I am waiting until 1 week before we are due to get an x-ray. We are due on 11/17.

Ok girls I can't help it.. you are going to be sick of me! Rofl I am excited and can't help myslef. I am a crazy women right now..

First one is Tara at 40 days. She seems to be getting bigger through the ribs than the belly. She is alot bigger than the picture shows.

The next is the proud papa all ready for bed tonight.

Ahhh..........I never get tired of seeing belly pics; that's why I lurk in these "expecting litters" threads even when we're not expecting.:rolleyes: I'm going to guess 3 puppies............subject to change as that belly grows.;)

Okay, our belly is getting very big over here. She is 39 days and seems to be getting large. However, she's not as big as the Pebbles thread. Last time she had 5, but I don't know how many she is going to have this time.

I love belly pics! Keep them coming . . .I love watching the expecting threads . . .it is very exciting to hear and get updates on upcoming litters, and of course, love the pics! :D

awwwwww, lovely belly pictures, LOVE THEM, I cant NEVER get sick of those lovely shots.... I can't wait to see how many...my Chanel is exactly 30 days from first breeding today ... I am still very nervous and excited.. I guess I do feel more motherly because this time around is MY girl.. when Taffy I was very excited and helped my youngest son as much as I could, but now is MY girl and I am super excited..LOL

Here is Tayah at day 43 from first tie. Boy is she eating good and gaining. She just now started gaining this week. I think off the top of my head w/o getting papers out she is at 6lbs 10oz. She started at 6lb 5oz. 20 0r so more days to go!!!!!!:D
