Aggression
 
OMG where is theaggression from lola comming from towardAvery. Avery just hadher pups this morning, butLola cameby her when I went to take my dogs out and she attacked her. Why?

You need to be very careful and keep all dogs away from the momma and her babies. Lola could try to steal the pups or kill them.

Oh my , the pups are upstairs, and Avery is away from her as well, it was just that I took them out at the same time. I never thought that there would be a problem. What would cause this? At what age is safe for them to be around the other dogs? Now my other females do not have a problem but they have never had a litter and Lola may be having a litter as well.

It is hard to understand why some females get very aggressive toward new mommas but it does happen. Most of the time it happens if two mommas have pups at the same time. The female that just had pups has a smell to her and Lola knows she has pups. It could be a jealousy thing or just a dominance thing. What ever the reason, you have to be very careful not to let them together.

At this point in time I would keep them completely seperated and probably won't allow them together at all......even when the pups are old enough to play together...no mixing of litters, period.....

It's so true! Matty Lu is acting aggsressive toward Kalina and vice versa. I think Matty's nose is a little out of joint because of all the fuss over Kalina and her puppies. I never let them together now and it's really hard because Matty and Kalina have always been best friends. The puppies are 4 weeks old today and it has died down somewhat, but I'm still taking it seriously.
