Would x rays show if the puppies were of different ages? I did not even think of that!! Ugh more worries!!!! Does this happen very often? Where would I find info on this. All the sites I have read up now now never really mentioned this. From what I have read skeletons are able to be viewed between 45-50 days and she was able to actually count them I am thinking she is closer to the 50 day mark plus I can feel and see these little guys moving all over the place. I also have seen more contractions, I noticed she is chewing on toys where she never had any interest before. She also is starting to walk a little staggered. I think they are getting heavy in her tiny little body. I am wondering if someone at the pound witnessed a tie and that is why they would refere to her as the pregnant one. WoW !!!!!! From personal experiences what else should I look for to tell me she is getting closer. Still no nesting. |
I am so excited. I heard the puppy's heartbeats today. I was able to hear 2 out of three athough they were all moving. It sounds like a very fast tic tic tic. One was faster then the other. Today she was acting a little different. She has never had interest in toys and today she was chewing on some of the toys. When I took her out to go potty she would not come back inside. Usaually she would go potty and run right back in today I had to follow her around and eventually I had to pick her up and bring her back inside. I also found a hole in her bed that she chewed. Is this normal. She should have these babies somewhere around Sept 8. |
Hi Imperez... i ran out of thoughts for you ... :) I am glad that you are excited and happy and from your first posts i can say that you are much better informed by now. If she is expecting puppies from different dad's or there are a few days difference between them they will be born showing differences... that is usually what happens with a tiny runt, that happens to be 3 up to 5 days younger than the big sibling in there. I am sure you are doing your best and you will be a good helper for her. Her chewing can be from "pain' as contractions become more frequent and stronger. they actually shred paper and little towels during deliver. Scratching, chewing and nesting go together. She may be just chewing. wait and see is the only thing you can do now. Xrays usually start showing skeletons about 42 to 46 days, at 50 days you really can see everything calcified. But that is guessing. I am with you, i think someone saw her mating... and they could at least let you know the exact day, it will be a great help. But i doubt they will say anything do you? XOXO |
No I doubt they will say anything because they really had their chance when she was being adopted. Any ways her temp droped to 98.3 this morning but came up to 99.6 later in the afternoon. I wll take it before I go to bed. It has been 63 days since they pulled her off the streets so I am playing the waiting game but since I am uncertain about the breeding date I am going to really watch her from here on out. I would think that the x-rays shoulld have given more info but someone mentioned that not all vets are really trained to determine the details so she could have been off by s a few days so just to be on the look out. I have everything ready:D Thanks for all your help |

when the temperature drops like that is very near. The temperature thing is not 100 per cent reliable, i had females that never dropped, ate to the last minute and suddenly just contracted and popped out puppies. Well , hoping all goes smooth and well. let us know how it goes and please take pics of the puppies for us to see... they will all be cute cute cute !!!!!! XOXO |
No nothing yet!!!!! I am playing the nervous greatgrandma waiting game!!!!:D |
