sissyspuppies.com I just found your wonderful site! I am looking to buy my wife a Yorkie, and this place is pretty close to me. They look adorable! its index Would you buy from a place like this? They seem like a nice family, the dogs are in the house, part of the family and look well. I also checked to see if any complaints are with AKC or USDA and there isn't. |
After looking at their site, I would not purchase from them. I see no health guantee, not to mention, do they breed those 3lb females? They also have alot of other breeds, classic cars, gees what else to they sell! There are no pedigree's on the website to look at as well. JMO |
Look elsewhere. Advertises teacups (no such thing) advertising ploy. Breeds tinies.....a big no, no. |
I agree. Also noticed in the photos when they take photos of the yorkies, there are no other breeds out and about. The same with the other breeds. Seems like they have a lot of dogs and they are trying to give one picture of who they are when they are really another - you know what I mean. Also I do not like that they breed tinies. Not really thinking of the dogs - IMO. |
At least one of their pics is being used for fraudulent yorkie sales ksl.com - Ad Listing I tried to find an email on their site to send them the link, but they don't have one? That is weird. |
I don't know if it matters or not, but several of the pictures of Yorkies they have used on their web site were "lifted" from shooterdog.com. The pictures are of Shooter, who is now deceased.:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown |
OMG:eek: I just saw that whoever this is is from where I live! |
Mmmmm, find it a bit unusual that the OP, lives in KY signed on today and asks a question about said breeder in KY. Maybe a set up???????? |
They sell just about every breed. Red flag! And what's that about cars on the website  |
I personally felt that some of the mom's looked very unkept, scraggly and ratty, especially the breeds other than Yorkies. Reminded me of the dreaded...... PM. Granted they had just given birth, but that is no reason to ignore hygiene and brushing. If I were trying to sell dogs, I would most certainly see that they were groomed when the pictures were taken. Maybe I expect too much. |
I am in kentucky and I know of a couple of breeders in that area that are not someone I would buy from but to each his own, I guess. |

Nope...way too many red flags for me. Breeding "teacups"--there is no such thing and reputable breeders would never breed to purposely try to produce extremely small dogs. Breeding way too many different breeds, multiple litters in a short time frame. I would pass. IMO, there is no sense in supporting a bad breeder and taking a chance when there are many reputable breeders out there you could choose instead. |
No, no, I am not them!! I thought it odd that you would say that, actually. Maybe that's happened before? I meant to come back here, and lost the site and it took me forever to find it. The email where I joined was in my junk, I finally found it. And yes, I am in Ky., and have been looking close to me for a dog, I wouldn't want to travel far. I do thank everyone for their responses. After checking around a bit more,I don't know if we will even get a Yorkie. Especially after all the responses on here, too. I don't think I can find a "good" one. They require quite a bit of care, the grooming is more than I (or my wife) had counted on, after doing some research. I just don't know. I was just about ready to buy from that site, the dogs were so cute!! I can't believe they don't even have those dogs!!! Someone said they were of someone else's dog!! Until I done the research the last few weeks, I thought that a "home" type breeder would be a good thing. Now, I think a "rescue" dog would be better than buying one that may have problems and from this type of breeder, you don't really know. And I thought that the more one breeds dogs, well, the more they would know! I know, I know, my wife calls me a dummy, too! To the lady that lives in Ky., would you happen to know of a good place to maybe adopt a Yorkie? One that is healthy? Also, how do you "find" good breeders? From what I've found online and in newspapers, they're mostly breeders like this one. |

Good luck. Glad you did not take offense when it was wondered if you could be the breeder. Yes, we have had that happen many times before. Most often when there is a complaint, then they will sign in as several different people and commend themselves until they get caught and banned from the site. Also don't let all of the care and grooming dissuade you from the most loving breed I have ever known. They make it all worthwhile! You can keep them in a puppy cut (short hair) to make grooming easier. They still do require more maintenance than your average dog -- but they are so worth it! |

* ask for referrals from others on this site * visit the YTCA site for a list of referred breeders * attend some local conformation events and introduce yourself * check out some handling classes in your area * see if there is a local kennel club in your area Many people don't want to deal with reputable breeders because they feel like it's a hassle. Ethical breeders will be extremely picky in screening potential homes for their pups and will likely have agreements (including spay/neuter requirements) that they expect to be signed--all to protect them, the new owner and most importantly, the dog. They also may have waiting lists. Although these are all very GOOD things, many people are turned off by them--they want a dog NOW, that they can pay for and get with no questions asked by the breeder. |
