Please! I need Help!!! my girl is almost 6 weeks pregnant and ever since 4 weeks she has been getting progressively bigger and bigger, but yesterday she started vomiting about 4 or 5 times and I just thought she may be having morning sickness but then today she has already had diarrhea about 3 times. and to top it all off, her tummy doesn't feel as full, it feels softer. I am very worried. I made a vet appointment for tomorrow but should I take her to the emergency vet?? is it normal for their tummies to get softer and not so firm????? do you think she miscarried??? her diarrhea is just a brown color, no green, and no blood. her vomit has been yellow and foamy. please help! this is my first breeding and I am soooo worried!!! |
i dont know bump bump any advice ppl? |
Has she been eating? Can you take her temp? |
yes, I will go take her temp right now. she has not been eating or drinking much at all today. I tried making her some chicken and rice. she won't eat the rice and she will only eat a tiny bit of the chicken. I have been hand feeding her water with a dropper so that she doesn't get too dehydrated. I will let you know what her temp is. any more advice???? anyone??? |
im so bad about remebering how things went with my females... and i never did weeks so im trying to figure out what day 6 weeks would be..but im too tired to look at it straight..LOL |
42 days way to early for labor |
I hope your girl will be okay. I understand your concern; I would be also. I would guess that the loss of firmness to her belly could be attributed to the vomiting & diarrhea emptying her stomach. You are right to take her to see her vet, I hope everything will be okay. Wish I could be more help.....wishing you luck |
thank you for all your concerns. her temp is right at 100.00, so it seems normal. she just had more diarrhea and it was pure bright brown/orange liquid. she seems really tired too, more than usual. |
sick First, call your vet. They need to know.Giving her dropers of water is not enough... she might need an IV.Please call vet. This is nothing to wate later for.....let us know what happens.....:animal36 |
I would give her some Nutri-cal if you have any and keep giving her some Karo syrup in water. If you have any pure canned pumpkin then give her a teaspoon of that. Pedialyte would be good for her also. Has she eaten anything different lately that would have caused the diarrhea? Hopefully she will be okay. Sometimes they get upset tummies and it just has to run its course. It is just important to keep giving her the fluids. Please keep us posted on how she is doing. |

thank you for all the ideas. I called the vet and they said it doesn't sounds bad enough to get her looked at right away. maybe I should get a second opinion. the only thing that was different is that I started giving her frontline again. she had been on it before I bred her and then I stopped giving it to her because a lot of people said it was bad for pregnant yorkies. the fleas got really bad in my house and the vet assured me that it was okay, so I trusted the vet and went ahead and put some on her yesterday. would that have anything to do with it? I will see if I have some pumpkin. I will keep everyone updated. thank you all soo much for taking the time to help me! ya'll are a life saver! |
It absolutely could have something to do with it. I had a vet tell me that my dog had parvo when it was actually sick because of the flea meds. It's poison. If she licked it, it will cause this reaction. Did you tell the vets that you had treated with that when you called? |
yes, I told them that I had given her frontline plus yesterday and they were like "oh, frontline is safe for pregnant dogs". I gave her what little nutri-cal, some kyro syrup in her water, and also mixed it with some pedia-lite. it is hard to get her to drink anything. I also took her outside to do her business and it came out with full force!!! (sorry about the graphicness) it is a strange orange color. does the color mean anything? |
I googled orange diarrhea in dogs and Coronavirus popped up. Not something I would typically think of in an adult since it's more prevalent in puppies. It is definitely possible though. I would take her to the vet first thing tomorrow. Take a stool sample with you as well. A fresh one if possible. |
