Chloe's 61 days and I think its time... Hi everyone, My baby's temperature dropped over the weekend, I checked this morning and its 99.1 degrees. She's is still acting the her norm but I am suspicious bc I am seeing a discharge and last night her bed was wet in the area where she sleeps, any idea whats going on anyone??? |
There are several possibilities as to what it could be. It could be her mucus plug, could be urine, or could be that her water broke. Does it have any color or odor? |
Its clear and has a weird smell. |
:confused:Should I take her to the vet? |
If she was my dog, I would definitely be at the vet just for peace of mine. There have been so many losses of puppies and mamas that I would personally not take any chances. I would rather have that peace of mind instead of worrying. |
Headed there now. Thanks. |

They will start to pace and walk room to room. They start to dig in places looking for their spot. At this time I put them in the confined area. I also will then notice the contractions. The belly will get very hard. At first they are light but as labor progresses they will get a little strong and at that point my girls will get restless and look uncomfortable. At that point things will start to progress and the contractions will bring on pushing. Normally then the water sak will either present OR will break in the canal. Hope this helps. |
The lowest its been is 99.1 |
Is she displaying any of the other symptoms I've posted? |
I have noticed her walking in circles or pacing, no contractions yet, she just vomitted too. I have noticed her rambling through her blankets and the newspaper in her box but no digging yet. |
Sounds like she is in labor. Did the discharge have any color to it? Did you go the vet? |
Yes Blancla and the vet said its perfectly normal, I probably overreated sorry. But she said its the onset of labor so hopefully I will be a granny soon LOL. I've been up the past 2 nights waiting for something to happen bc I dont want to miss it, it'll be just my luck tonite I will be in a good sleep and it happens. Thank you for all your help, will keep you posted. |

oh have a safe whelp.... I cant wait to see the puppies=) |
I'm glad that everything checked out alright. I know what it's like to over react too. Last year, I had a female that had to have a c-section because she never had contractions. I tend to worry too much because of the bad experience. However, my Yorkie, Ellie had a natural birth with no complications. So, I guess it can go both ways. |
Yeah, another puppy watch good luck and I'll pray for a self whelping |
