My Experience with Starmye Halpin was the complete opposite Wow, am I glad I did not see this before getting our little boy last week as I probably would have been leary and not wanted to take a chance on getting a puppy from her. However, my experience was nothing short of wonderful. Starmye returned my phone calls and e-mails promptly. Little Finnley (Morkie) came healthy and happy (via airplane) and was exactly the little guy I had seen posted on the internet. He had been to the vet the day before and checked out fine along with having a microchip placed. He smelled good upon arriving. He is amazing. He hasn't been to the vet yet (this Saturday) but I am assuming that all is well with him. He is very intelligent and loves people. He is already hitting the piddle pad 80% of the time and he has only been with us 4 full days. I already cannot imagine life without him. I would say to give Starmye a second chance. Maybe she has improved on all the negatives. |
Sniff sniff. I smell a troll. I magine that your first post on a forum is to a 4 month old thread. Interesting |

He will be 11 weeks old on Friday. We are feeding him Eukanuba Puppy food. His records show 2 treatments of deworming I believe but I will be sure to bring a stool sample. I normally research everything to death before I purchase something on the internet so this is just another sign to me that this little guy was meant to be in our lives as I said before I would have been hesitant getting him after reading all the negatives. My husband and I were looking at a particular Morkie in Minnesota (where we live), however after praying for a sign that we should get a puppy and didn't get one we wrote all the pros and cons down on paper. We decided that we would wait until at least spring to reconsider. I put the puppy idea out of my head. Then a co-worker sends me a Min Pin puppy from the website PuppyFinders. Although I wasn't interested in a Min Pin, out of curiosity, I typed in Morkie and I kid you not this little guy literally popped out at me and his name was Blake. Starmye referred to him as Mr. Blake Man. That was the name of our son who passed away 8 1/2 years ago and we also referred to him as Mr. Blake Man. Can you say SIGN!!! I had already decided that when I called her and he had been sold, we would have remained puppyless. There was no other puppy out there for us at this time. Had I read those reviews I would have second guessed myself into eternity and like I said probably wouldn't have gotten him. Another SIGN that I didn't google Starmye and I am so glad I didn't because he is absolutely perfect. |
In reply to Jeanie K. What is so odd about responding to a 4 month old post??? The only reason I even found this YorkieTalk website is that I now googled Ultimate Puppies and it brought me to this forum. |

That's not to say that is what you are doing, but it happens so much that it's like 'the boy that cried wolf'... |
All I can say then is 'why would I have been on this site prior to owning a Morkie'? Why would I have been interested. You gotta start some time. I can imagine that mostly I will be reading from here on and learning what I need to about Morkies/Yorkies unless I have a question. Maybe that is what others do, who knows. |

Well Jewel...I can only say I am glad you prayed for a puppy and got it out of that rat infested, god awful puppy mill that your poor puppy was born into. This type of greeder makes me sick to my stomach...making $$$ off the backs of dogs..Maybe they should go out and work for a living themselves. |
I take it then that you have been there and seen these conditions with your own eyes? |
If you can treat Man's Best Friend this way... What does it say about you!!! Yorkiemama1986... I thought I was upset last night after reading a thread on Yorkietalk about a puppy mill being shut down. Now I'm just angry. Here's what I put on the other thread last night... Disgusting.. To say the least. This is horrible, I've never seen anything like this before. OMG people (or do we call them people ) doing this to our helpless animals. Something really needs to be done to change the abusive treatment and neglect. I'm blown away, just watching that video. Someone really needs to step up and take some legal action or write new laws to correct this terrible injustice We need to find the right person and file legal against someone. Give me some names, I'll make some calls. These people need to be stopped ...........NOW I'm not a very happy person right now, this just made me sick. Their are Quality Breeders that care but people using dogs to make the Almighty $$$$$ at the cost of these poor dogs health and living conditions. They should have to live like this for awhile and be bought and sold only for breeding... couldn't you just see it now. My wish would be: To Foster All the Pets and Never Make Them Suffer. God Make this Wish Possible God spelled backward is Dog .... Maybe that's why dogs are called Man's best friend. |

Who cares if you saw it with your own eyes or not. If they are advertising all those dogs and MIXED dogs they are no good. You are lucky if your dog isn't sick yet. If you think breeding all those dogs is good and dandy well then I am going to not say anything because I don't want to get in trouble! ;) |

Step three.. |

OK...how about the USDA who has filed their very poor findings? Beware of the troll. It still seems strange to me that a newbie comes on here and the first post she makes is to rave about a puppy mill and what a great "morkie" she got from them. Reputable breeders do not breed "MORKIES". |

I am happy that you found this little pup and it very may well have been a sign who am I to think other wise. I pray that your baby pup will be healthy and happy in his new home. This is a good place to get advice and I too will look for advice without posting too much. I would love to see pics of him. If this place that you got him from has this many complaints then something is wrong but that dose not mean that your little boy will not turn out to be very health and well adjusted. |
Starmye Halpin :animal-pa I purchased an AKC registered "Yorkie puppy" from PurebredBreeders. com this past July. I purchased a female with hopes of breeding her with the male that I also purchased frm the same site, different owners from different states. We searched for a suitable female and found a few to choose from. When we called the customer line to select our female, the gentleman said that he knew this particular breeder and would call her to get the specs on the pup. After speaking to her, he said that she recomended another pup instead of the one we selected. We looked over her selection and since we want to breed her at least 1 time, we took her recomendation. Her description says that her dad's weight - 3-3 1/2 lbs mom's weight- 5-6 lbs We were also told that as of the timeof our call, this pup weighes 1lb 13oz and her weight will be around 3-4 lbs. This info was given to us on 7/26/2009, the day that we purchased her for $1534.00. She arrived to us on 7/30/2009 at 12:45pm via air. We got our male 7/28/2009. As our puppies began to grow we started seeing a difference between the two. Her snout is much longer than his and she is a much bigger dog, not the 3-4 lbs that we had been told. While on a cruise this month we met a professional breed judge. When showing her the pictures of our puppies, she told me that she was bigger because she is a Silky. This explained o me the reason the two looked different from each other. Now comes the kicker...For those of you who want to defend this so called "Breeder".... We receive a letter from AKC stating.."A parentage verification analysis of AKC DNA Certifications was conducted on a dog in your dog's pedigree/lineage. The DNA results indicate that this dog could not be the offspring of the parents to which it is registered. Because your dog is a direct descendent of a dog in the litter with incorrect parentage, the registration of your dog and its offspring have been put on referal. This means that AKC services will not be provided if the dog's in this litter are bred, sold,or transfered, and awards will not be recorded if these dogs participate in any AKC sanctioned or licensed events." I have turned this matter over to the brokerage company that I purchased the dog through. As soon as I hear back, I will post again. |

Akc suspended Quote:
My dog's satus with AKC has been put on referral, which means SUSPENDED! Purchsed from the one and only Staryme.. |
Not exactly mam...I was stating the weight I was told her to be as an adult. And that the breeder selected this female as a mate to the male that I purchased from another. Please read clearly and not between the lines! |
Hmmm....you wanted to breed a female that was under 4 lbs, and was shipped to you at under 2 lbs?:( Even the slightest amount of research beforehand and you would have found enough information to make any one with sense run from this breeder. Hopefully you also would have learned about the dangers of breeding a tiny female and a proper way to begin breeding. Thank you for reporting her. Hopefully the innocent dogs won\'t suffer anymore for the greed and ignorance. |

Will someone please tell me where I said I want to breed a 3-4 lb dog...I stated that this is what her add said...and what the breeder told the "Broker" for lack of a better term, and what was told to me. It seems that I am now the villian and not a victim! You people are nuts!!! |
I would also like to add that when purchasing online, one doesn\'t know who the breeder is so I had no way of researching this person or doing my "homework". Not until this referral came from the AKC did I complain about this breeder at all. I love my dog\'s, all 4 of them, and wouldn\'t do anything to put any of them in harms way. I care for my dogs as if they were my kids. I have one who requires 2 insulin shots a day, did I opt for putting her down???? No I pay for the insulin an the needles and continue to love and care for her. Don\'t judge me on your lack of understanding what you read. |
You said you bought her to breed. Her expected weight was 3-4 pounds. I didn\'t have to read between the line you put it right out there. |
