I have an 11 week old female silky terrier My question is when do females usually go into their first heat cycle? And how old do they have to be before you can breed them? And can i breed the father with the daughter as long as i know the pedigree? |
Generally 6 months to a year before they go into heat...and at least on their second heat before breeding. And to your last question....it's not advisable. |

I have mae rocko an appointment to get fixed next week. then naula will get spayed when she is 5 months" I didnt think you were going to breed them because of the fathers health issues? |

i took her to the vet and she doesn't have the same health issues im very lucky so sicne she doesn't if i breed her the chances of her pups having them are slim to none |
Be nice ladies! To the OP...we have several good breeders here with alot of good info. Maybe one of them will answer this. We had someone here (not that long ago) asking about breeding father and daughter. I BELIEVE they said it isn't advisable. However I have read where "inbreeding" is used when breeding for show. A LOT of testing would have to be done on both male and female before this could be done. Sounds to me like you are a novice. IMO...I would leave this up to the experts. You wouldn't want puppies with health issues or deformities. |

She's too young to have been graded for LP. |
