Sound familiar? Im new here and came across the site newjerseyyorkiebreeder.com was wondering if anyone has dealt with them or could vouch for them bc im a little learly of buying over the internet but i want to make sure they are for real. PLEASE let me kno if you have ANY info! |
If you google the 1-800 number given on the site you will find they are in every state and claim to hand pick all their breeders of many many breeds and mixes. That would not be possible. And I notice the term teacup, red flag. Also from the pictures of the dogs on the site, these are not quality puppies and I would suspect likely are coming from puppymills, byb's etc and this is just a different marketing tool, kind of like a pet store on line. Don't buy through the internet. Find a breeder perhaps via the Internet but someone you can go to to see the dogs, puppies, breeder etc. Also, anyone you enquire about their puppies should be willing to answer all your questions and they should be asking you many questions about you, your circumstances, have you had a yorkie or other dog before, the kind of home it will be in, how much someone is there etc. |
I was looking at the site and read some of the reviews. And all of them just seem a bit to good to be true. Also like the other post said 'teacup' is a red flag. That means that most likley they will have health issues because there parents are very small. I have looked at a lot of sites for puppies in NJ and have found some pretty good breeders that were just out of my price range. You may want to see what breeders are in your area. |
Lorraine gave you good advise. Also, try going to the breeder referral on the YTCA website. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America About The Club. You can find reputable breeders in your area who might send you in the right direction if they don't have something. If you are looking for a companion dog, don't expect to get one without a spay or neuter contract. Respected, reputable breeders just do not sell on an open registration unless they are placing a show prospect with a show contract. As for price, these breeders are generally no more expensive than the money grubbing back yard breeders and puppy mills. Good, healthy Yorkies are not inexpensive, but well worth the cost. Good luck in your search. |
