Ok guys! I have a dilema... Sorry guys, this may be long.......Ok, My male Cody has a problem, when one or both of my girls are in heat he goes insane (like most males do) but, if he does not breed then he gets a prostate infection from being SO worked up and not doing anything about it. We've been through the infections twice and they are BAD. Gracie is the only one he can breed with ( Bella is way too small) but I'm not going to breed her every cycle. So, here's my dilema, do I neuter Cody and get another stud or do I get another female so Cody can breed. I'd rather neuter him and get another male. Here's another problem, should I use the money from the sale of Teddy Bear (if/when) that happens, or do I try to trade Teddy for another male. The male I am looking for would need to be no larger than 5lbs. |
wow.. that is quite the dilemma. Is there no one that could maybe keep him until she is done with her heat? I know that would be asking a lot out of someone but figuring it would only be once a year. So I guess in the end you have to decide to you want three breeding girls or just the two. I guess if you have the demand for more puppies.. that is a hard one! Good luck with your decision |
We tried that before but like you said, that is alot to ask of someone three times a year, one cycle of Gracie's and the two of Bella's. I don't want to put Cody through that again. So I guess the fun of looking for a male begins. Yippy! |

Please forgive me for asking this, but I know with a lot of farm/captive animals, the male seed is "harvested". Is there nothing like this for dogs? I thought some breeds of dogs can no longer naturally mate.... |
