Not a breeding question, but I need a breeders help! To all of the yorkie breeders on the forum, I have a question for you. Penelope is just a bit over 6 months old. She has lost all of her baby teeth between the canines on the bottom. Now, my question. None of the secondary teeth have grown in, is this normal? I have never encountered this with my poodles. It is normal for the secondary teeth to push the baby teeth out, but to lose the teeth without the second set coming in is unusual to me. Any feedback would be appreciated, I'm not sure if I need to call my vet yet, but her gumming me actually bothered me! |
Gee that is a good question.. I have never had a puppie do this.. in fact generally I have had to get the baby teeth out as the adults are coming in and sometimes you end up with doubles.. generally around the time a puppy will be spayed or nuetered... I sure will watch to see what other breeders have to say tho... anne |
That does sound a bit unusual but I don't think I would worry yet. Most of the permanent teeth come in when they are between 6 and 7 months. I bet they just pushed out the baby teeth and they will probably be popping out anytime now. :) |
