Silky/yorkie This could be a stupid question but I would like to get a silky terrior and I wanted to know if I could breed him to my yorkshire and still have papers on the pups AKC if both parents are AKC or is it a whole other breed and the AKC will not allow it, they look so much alike is why I am asking. Thanks |
it is a whole separate breed so no you couldn't get papers on the puppies. |
I kinda thought that thanks for clearing that up for me. Christina |
don't take this the wrong way, but, why would you want to do that? And Dee is right, no, you can't get papers on them, because you couldn't register them as they wouldn't be purebred |
no you can't register them with AKC, I have both a pure breed yorkie AKC and a Pure Breed silky Also AKC, but they are Two separate breeds if I would breed them they will be considered a mix breed, or silkshires and AKC does not recognize the pups. hugs, CArmen in nj |

thanks anyway |
Please don't take it the bad way. There is just so many dogs in shelters, most of us disagrees with mixing dog for fun . And that mix will give you yorkie with long legs and longer nose. Not something you want on a yorkie. Please educate yourself before thinking about breeding. No bad feeling ok. |
I understand all of this there are lots of animals in shelters but it was just a question and if it was not +excepted with the AKC I was not going to do it so everyone rest asure. Sometimes a little question gets misunderstood. No I am not going to mix the yorkie breed. Thanks everyone. Christina |
