Opinions on Red Rasp. Leaf? Dosage?
 
I have another question for you guys.... I bought some high-end natural/organic red raspberry leaf tincture to use with Rosie during her pregnancy and I have NOT given it yet. I wanted to know if anyone had any opinions or a dosage for this subject? I used it for my own pregnancies and sometimes through the month but I am afraid to give it without some other opinions to my dog. Thanks for any info! Human dosage on this particular tincture says: 1 ml (28 drops) 2-3 times a day.

I gave this to Ellie 1/2 tsp a day starting when she was 6 weeks pregnant. Not sure about the egg thing. I was very careful to make sure she didn't have to much calcium in her system. I even took her puppy food away the last 10 days so that she would have contractions. I had a bitch before have too much calcium and she didn't have any contractions at all even though she went through the labor. She ended up with a C-section.

Thanks so much for the input. Do you feel like the bitch who got the rasp. leaf had an easy labor? I just took mine off puppy food too (10 day till firdt due date) Again, i appreciate the input

The rasp. leaf I have is a strong mixture (1:1) so I am thinking of really diluting it down if I do use it.

She did wonderful, everything was text book. The labor started at 1:00 in the morning and was over by 4:30. I gave her nutri-cal between the puppies.

She had a litter of 5, but we did loose one. It's wasn't because of the labor or birth, but there was something wrong with her internally. We did everything we could to save the pup, but it just wasn't meant to be.

Let me know how it goes. Do you know how many you're expecting yet?

I have an x-ray set up for tomarrow. We will know more then. She did start to show at 5 weeks or shortly after, so maybe we will have 4 or 5. That' s my guess right now. I will update about that when we find out. The x-ray date is set on either her 50 or 55 day.

The later you can have the x-ray the better. Ellie had one at 54 days and then another at 3 days before she delivered. If I would have went with the first x-ray we would have missed a puppy. They are definitely more developed and can see the bone structure better around day 58.
