Breeders- Do you like updates? I email Layla's breeder usually twice a year- at Christmas and on Layla's birthday (unless a health issues has come up- i will email her about that as well). Just wondering if- as a breeder- you appreciate this? She seems to but she could just be being nice.. . lol... I ask her about Layla's littermates and she said she hasnt' heard from either of them and that is hard for her... |
I love to hear from people that have purchased a puppy from me!!! And I LOVE pictures!!!:) |
I feel the same way....I Love to get Email and I love pictures too. It makes me happy to see them pampered and loved. |
I may be a little out of the norm...lol....but I keep in contact with every pup I have ever raised. On a regular basis, some even a few times a week and I LOVE it.:animal-pa |
I advised the buyers of the pups from my one litter (so far) that I would be touching base with them from time to time to hear progress of the puppies and to see pictures of them as they matured. Each of them have gladly replied to my requests & I am thrilled to know that my puppies are all happy & well. So in answer to your question; Yes, I do appreciate hearing from their new families, and I also believe that they appreciate that I care enough about the pups to inquire about them. |
this is a great question and i often wondered the same thing...i tend to be rather chatty in emails telling them about all the cute things my kids do and i take lots of pictures too :) i often wondered if the breeders were just being polite lol so i am really happy i stumbled across this thread!! poor miss buffeys breeder - i think i have sent her a thousand pictures over the past year :p :D |
~I always love to hear from people that purchased a puppy from me, sometimes I get videos and pics....:), but there are a few that don't stay in contact even if I email them first. At first I was sad, but now used to it. :aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |

I LOVE it when they stay in touch and send pictures. It is so very important to me and what a reward to see the pups in such loving, caring homes. I have also stayed in touch with my breeders and they seem to really appreciate it and enjoy the updates and pictures. |
I love hearing from my puppy's new parents. I especially love pictures. On the downside, sometimes you hear things you would rather not know, like when you have explained and explained the importance of a good diet and write down what type of foods are good and they later inform you they are feeding Beneful dog food  or their vet told them the lepto shot was necessary. |
I remember when I asked this a while back and I was really surprised on how many said they did post updates...... I'm not a breeder but as for their breeders wanting to get updates I have to say that out of the four yorkies I have/had two wanted to hear and two couldn't have cared less....... Thanks for reminding me.......:) |
great thread! i have always wondered the same thing!! ;) Gemma will be a year in April.. and so far have sent her an update with a couple pics once and also sent her a Christmas card with both my girls picture on it! (i also got a Christmas Card from her) :) i plan on sending another update soon(as Gemma will be 1 year old!) :heart to she really seems to like the updates (of course i don't overdo it.. but, very easily could! and when i send an update with pics, you can bet i go on and on (stories and all..):D |
I LOVE updates with pictures. I only have one puppy that the lady has not updated me. And one other one that the lady (YT MEMBER) used to update but doesn't anymore and I think something happened to my puppy or she would. |
