Lilly still having false pregnancy, calling vet tomorrow. I am so confused by all of this. Her breasts are all full of milk now, probably 3 times the size they were a few weeks ago. If she would have accidentally tied with Diesel when she was in heat, she would be long overdue, so I know that it is false. It is just lasting so long. She acts normal, isn't nesting or looking for babies or anything, just really really full breasts and swollen vulva still. After researching treatments though, I am afraid to treat her with anything because some literature says that treatment isn't reccomended and can be dangerous :( . Has anyone experienced this? I am calling the vet in the am for suggestions, but I would like to know of anyone that has actually dealt with it. |

oh and I can express milk now too  Poor girly. At least she isn't nearly as stressed about this as I am. |

How long has it been since she was in heat? Hopefully she did not have a split heat and you missed the second one. Usually with a false pregnancy they can get milk but usual they will dry up with no problem. |

She came into heat right around Dec 21st. Her belly isn't any bigger or anything, plus she didn't tie, so I am quite sure (as close to 100% as you can get) she is not pregnant. A lot of what I read says that false pregnancies last 2-3 weeks, and some say that it will last the duration of a real pregnancy, but even so, she should be done by now I would think. |

I was just wondering what the vet said. |

 I have to wait 15 min yet before I call :) |

YAY she got there a little early! They just said to let it pass. As long as she isn't demonstrating any behavior that would suggest she is becoming ill or anything like that, they said she'll be fine. I didn't want them to think I was crazy worrying about something silly, but I just don't want something to happen to her that would jeopardize her health, and I have never heard of a false pregnancy carrying on like this before :) . |
