I have never even been to Indiana. I am sure it must be horrible knowing what is probably in those buildings. We have our problems in Az too. Where you have mills, we have tons of bybers. One byber in Tucson had 800 dogs in their mobile home. That is probably our biggest mill. We were also the hardest hit in the housing economy and people are loosing their homes right and left. Alot of their pets are ending up in shelters or they move and just leave the dog locked in the house only to be found weeks later dead. Its all so over-whelming.:( |

My Bogey is a cast off from a breeder in IN. He was found on the side of the road dragging his leash behind him, malnourished, matted from head to toe wandering, his nails grown into his paws. The shelter is sure he came from a mill or breeder in the area that he was found. It happens all the time. The shelter have gone so far as to have an area that dogs can be dropped off over night. You are correct when you say the economy is horrible. I live in Chicago and it is not much better here either. I understand that you show and look for a show hopeful and breeding would be the only way to continue to show. I am wondering now if you worried with the economy falling apart will you will be able to sell the puppies? People have cut back on so much I don't know if they have the money to even afford pets any more. IMO we are living in a very dark and scary time in this country. |

I live outside the amish community Not all of the long barns you see are puppy mills but the ones that are, are bad, Not all amish people do not love their animal either. Just like not all breeder are bad. This bill that is getting ready to go before the senate is not going to stop this it is only going to hurt the honest people who have the one to two litter a year. You really need to read the bill completly. I love my Yorkie and I live in Indiana I have had 1 liter this year and may have one more out of a different female. Her name is Markie and my other dog is Annie. They sleep with me every night. This bill does not just effect Yorkie breeder you need to look at the big picture. The person who has a large dog, German Shepard, Collie, Rottewiller will not even be able to have one litter. More then 5 puppie being sold is against the law according to this bill. I know everyone who has bought a Yorkie had paid good money for their furbabies if everyone has to just give a way puppies what do you think will happen then. If they dont like them to the pound they will go. Please this bill has good parts but it has alot of bad parts to read it tell your senator to vote no they need to do one for commercial breeder but selling 5 puppies is not commercial by any means. |
As stated in the previous thread regarding this bill, PLEASE follow the rules for posting bills, as pasted into the other thread. Do NOT link to a bill from an organization. You must either link directly to the bill, via the state, or paste the entire bill into your first post. This thread is now closed. |
