aww I just saw this, sounds like you have really great people helping you, just wanted to say good luck and I hope all goes well. I dont know why people answer some and not some, sometimes I feel like that too, but anyway hope all goes well, and looking forward to seeing pics of your new additions. Linda |
yep well unfortunately I see it the way you see it. As a breeder myself I have seen some people on here who are stuck up there own chimneys, do this, do that, you no good at preaching. Please believe me I have researched my lines, and they are 1 of the best in Europe, and to sit on here and see people just showing off because they show their dogs and think they are experts, Believe me, when 1 of there dogs win, and it has a heredity problem, do you think they are gonna tell you . Dont think so, but they will bum and blow about what they achieve in the ring.. Go figure. |
Oh by the way I have 100% respect for show people. But just lets say there is some of them who are like myself a back street breeder. Only with me you get what I tell you. I dont promise you the world. |

I have had so much support from so many regarding Bella's pregnancy and I am grateful for it all. I also find it so sad that there are so many of us that are afraid to post publically for fear of being attacked. You would think that everyone could just be accepting of those with different beliefs or just learn to let things go. I know I have even sent support to people via pm because I am just too tired most of the time to deal with judgemental people and I am the type to come to someone's defense real quick if I feel they are being bashed. |

For starters, it's frustrating to continuously read about people breeding their dogs without doing even the slightest bit of research and preparation first. Or those who breed with no regard whatsoever to the standard or overall health of the dogs. Not everyone is willing to encourage that type of thing. Most got tired of being jumped on for answering questions honestly and got tired of having to defend themselves everytime the lectures of "you were rude" started. They were slapped in the face for the advice they offered anytime it wasn't what the OP wanted to hear. After so many times of being attacked and told that if they couldn't be nice and supportive to butt out, they did just that. So, if they post and answer questions, that's wrong, and if they don't answer at all, that's wrong too. It's a no win situation. Why would they even try? (All just general thoughts, not in relations to any one specific siutation.) |
In reality, how many people actually have a mentor, do research and actually know what a sound yorkie looks like before they breed their dogs? The fact of the matter is that most people just happened to buy a pair of yorkies and just start breeding. Most people come to YT after the fact and then they need help. Just because we answer questions and give guidance does not automatically mean that we agree with what the person might have done. I love hearing different opinions and I have learned a lot since coming to YT. I think it is sad that many of the knowledgeable breeders and show breeders have quit posting because I think many of them can be inspirational to others. I like to help people when I can because I don't want any little puppy or expectant momma suffering due to the lack of education or knowledge of their owner. I know that not all of us breeders and non breeder will always agree on things but we agree to disagree in a polite and respectful way. |
You know....... First of, let me please say that what I am about to type is in no way meant to belittle anyone or offend anyone. *****BJH & Peanut you have been a big help to me, and it is greatly appreciated*** I'm beginning to feel like this argument is my fault for even posting about my Ellie. It's really sad that all of these debates are happening because I felt that some comments were a little harsh. I know that you don't know me and don't know my situation, let alone know anything about my Yorkies. I came here because I was upset that Ellie got pregnant as early as she did, but she has been in a vets care from day 1. I called them immediately when I realized what had happened. I was going to breed her anyway, just not this early. Please don't judge, accidents do happen and I learned from it. I wanted to share my excitement with other breeders and Yorkie fans and hopefully make some friends in the process. I posted a thread asking if there were any breeders in my area that would be interested in being a mentor so that I could learn as much as possible before the big day. I didn't get the responses that I was looking for. So, I privately contacted some breeders based on their previous posts and found BJH and Peanut. They have been helping me through PM's and have been great. I want to remind everyone that speaking to someone is much different than reading a reply on a post. Through the computer one can't tell in what meanor a comment was suppose to be. It could have been meant to be helpful, but then comes across as harsh. Me being human, thought that some of the comments were very harsh, but when thinking about it, maybe they didn't understand my original post either. So, you move on. I do have to say, that I have met some really cool people on here. However, I am pledging that if I can offer anyone advice, a word of encouragement or some help, then I am going to do just that based on what I have learned from other breeders on here and my personal experience. I am also going to remember what my mother taught me, if you can't something nice, then don't say anything at all. P.S. Ellie is fine and is very very big. Her temp is 98.1 |

Trust me, this is in no way "your fault". It's been ongoing for years--many breeders stopped posting in this section long ago, it's not a new development. And it wasn't because of any one specific situation...just a combination of many similar incidents that eventually added up over time and finally got to be too much for some to care to deal with. Ever so often, someone will take note of it and comment on it....that's all. |

The people who do not even reach out to knowledgable forums and such are the ones that can be totally devastating to this breed. Even more so than us just starting out. At least we are trying to learn all we can, which is the opposite of neglectful. And I don't understand the comment about P.M.-ing people for advise, how are we supposed to know who is a silently knowledgable breeder?(there are 40,000 people on this forum) We are new, if you know things than speak up sometimes and let us know you guys even exist. Like BJH, she has put herself out there and that's how I know to ask her through P.M.'s if needed for advise. As far as the people who judge us by a single post we have made, that is unfortunate. |
