I want to hear your experiences! Hello all. I was just wondering what all of you breeders have found most likely to happen when it comes time for your dogs to whelp? 1) Have you noticed your girls go early?(before day 63) 2) Have you noticed you girls to whelp late? (after day 63) 3) Have you noticed that they begin whelping on exactly the 63rd day? 4) Have you noticed a difference in first timers verses veterans? 5) Those of you who take temps, Do you find that to be accurate? and how long between temp drop and active pushing/labor was there? I totally understand it depends on many things and It also depend on which ties started pregnancy but I just wanted to hear your personnal experiences. The more detailed you can get the better! Thanks , Melissa |

I have been raising Yorkies for 12 years and I can honestly say I have had them go any time between 59 and 70 days from the 1st breeding. Of course the majority of them go on days between 61 and 65. |
With most of mine the temperature would drop to 99 or below and they would usually have puppies within 24 hours but I have had a few that went into labor when their temperature was 100 degrees. |
