6 week old Yorkie?
 
I just got a wee Yorkie Sunday ....
Both his parents are I would say over the standered size...:)

Couper is 2.2lbs & was born Dec 24th 08
I am hoping for him to be bigger....as I prefer the bigger ones ...
My other yorkie is 5lbs & shes so delicate & very nervous .
I dont want this lil guy to be like Minnie...

Sounds like you got your wish. His weight may be inflated a bit due to baby fat, though. Doubling the weight at 12 weeks should give you a better idea. Congratulations on your baby but do watch out for him. He really is too young to be away from his mom and litter. Make sure he's eating well and don't expose him to other dogs outside your home until he's had his shots. You should be able to start those at about 8 weeks. Some pups have socialization issues when taken from their litter so young but hopefully your Minnie will bond with him and show him the ropes. Best of luck.

Forgot to mention Couper does not eat much @ all.
I bought him deli fresh Chicken veggies & rice all natural with no preservities,wet food,I wet it more with some milk,smashed it up like a pudding...

hes very playful & not Lathegic like I thought he would be...so I guess this is a good sign..

Being playful is a good sign except that you have to be mindful that if he's not eating much, he'll burn up all his reserves and his blood sugar could drop. Keep some Nutri-Cal or Karo on hand. You could give him some a couple times a day for now; just a dab od Nutri-Cal or about 1 cc of Karo to keep his blood sugar up. Also, limit his playtime for now to keep him from burning himself out. He should be getting his teeth in so may be able to eat some kibble. You can leave that out all day so he always has something to eat. He should be eating 3-4 times a day at this stage. Just be extra careful with him for now until you're sure he's progressing well.

That's exactly what I was thinking...only 6 weeks :eek:. Wow, not even legal in many states. :(

It's a real shame that some 'breeders' prey on unsuspecting buyers in this way. Sadly, it's all too common with Yorkies. They do this especially when they know the pups will be larger than standard. They let them go while they're still 'small and cute'. And, they're never available when the new owner has problems.
