pregnant???
 
Is it easier to tell on 2nd or 3rd pregnancies if they are pregnant? I know with the first litter I really didn't know until about the 5th wk., but thought as with women usually with later pregnancies you can tell earlier. Is it the same with dogs?

Whether it is the first breeding or second it really just depends on the size of the bitch and how many puppies she is carrying as to how soon you can tell.

This is my first time trying to have puppies. We had her with the male 2 different breedings and there did not seem to be any interest on the males part, so we went into the vet and had her artificially inseminated on day 11 of her blood cycle. She would be about 22 days now, and so far no signs. Does anyone know when I might notice something and what I should see? I know that she can have an xray at about 45 days

When a female is pregnant, most noticeable earlier on would be that her vulva will stay swollen and the teats will remain more prominent; though these do not necessarily confirm that she is pregnant. Some will have morning sickness in the first few weeks as mine did. I suspected pregnancy in my female when she was about 4 weeks, noticing a slight change in the firmness of her belly. Palpitation by our vet at about 28 days confirmed her pregnancy. They normally don't REALLY start to "show" til the las couple of weeks of pregnancy & movement of the pups in the last week-week & a half.
