I was looking through the classified adds and I saw this one I thought it was very over priced for a Yorkie, but you tell me.

"Cats/Dogs Supplies/Services - YORKSHIRE TERRIER 11 wk old female, AKC wormed, shots, small, cute personality $17,000 661-254-4191
Start Date: 08/28/2005 Stop Date: 09/10/2005"

Wow, $17,000 is ridiculous. With that kind of money I will rescue lots of Yorkies.

I cannot believe that someone thinks that a dog is worth that much money. The most I have personally seem them for is $7000.00 and that is definately too much. I personally think that anything over $1000 is but I don't want to make anyone mad it's just my opinion.

I would have to agree. That couldnt possibly be the price. Maybe you should give them a call. Never hurts to find out..

WOW and I HAVE to think that's a misprint too - I've seen people here say yorkies going for 10 GRAND are an acceptable price and just want to say to these prices - I could put a downpayment on a HOUSE with that kind of money and then get 10 little average priced yorkies to fill it with !

Has to be a misprint, I cant imagine that being right! I think even $1700 is TOO much, at least for me.

That's outrageous! A co-worker of mine told me that she met a woman in the vets office that sells her yorkies for $10,000 and has a waiting list. Won't ever see my name on that list!
My last little girl was $2500 with a long line of champions in her pedigree (I bought her to show),but I would never pay more than that.

I saw one for that price a few months ago. Then the ad disappeared. I don't know if it sold or what but that was indeed the price. I want to know what makes some dogs worth $5000, $7000, $10,000, and up. I want to sell some puppies for that price. Pay off all my bills and buy me a nice piece of land to build a beautiful kennel/craftroom. Sylvia
