chloe' 6week old puppy keeps crying and whining HELP!!!!!! Hello everyone yesterday my boyfriend and I picked Chloe' up from this breeder my boyfriend and his family been going to for the longest and last night and today she's been whining and crying and we have food and water out for her and puppy pads out, her dog bed, teething puppy kong, and her blanket... Idk if theres something I should be doing more of ?? Also, The breeders told us to smash her dog food up with a hammer and put water in her food so her food is runny and soupy..is this ok? also, she only did #2 once is this normal? |

It sounds like she is just too young, I have 7 week old puppies now and they still drink from mom although they are eating puppy food just fine. She is crying because she misses her momma and litter mates. Remember shes small so she won't eat much at one time, just make sure she eats and drinks plenty of water. Try filling a soda bottle, 2 liter one, with very hot water and then wrap it in newspaper or towel for her to snuggle with for warmth. good luck with your new puppy, although I am not impressed with your breeder letting her go so young:( Not your fault, I know. |
She stays with my boyfriend and we decorated her kennel with her doogy bed that she loves and a puppy pad in front and she sleeps ontop of this hot water pad to keep her warm and her blanket on top... but my boyfriend said she's been waking up like every hour or two so he gets up and hold her and feed her.. but yes she sleeps in his room |
Yes she is definitly too young to be taken away from her mom and littermates. Maybe you can keep a doggie sweater on her to keep her warm at night since she does not have her littermates to do so. You can also take her to the Vet for a checkup and make sure nothing is wrong. Good LUck!! :aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |
yes I know she is very young .. lucky I've been learning about dogs since I was 2yrs old. but just wanted to make sure this was from her missing her mom and brother and siser |

At 6 weeks she may not be fully weaned...at 6 weeks my 3 boys were still nursing on Molly even though they were also eating dry food. Would it be possible for you to return the puppy to the breeder for a few more weeks? That way she might get off to a better start with you and she will have a chance to learn a bit more from her Mom and siblings. |
idk .. she said she would be fine .. just to give her a week or so to get used to her environment |
Can you talk to her and see if she would agree to let her come back for a while? I have a litter right now that is 9 weeks and I wouldn't even consider letting them go before 10 weeks at the earliest...that's what most breeders do. Weaning is a critical time for a puppy, emotionally and nutritionally. |
Please read some of the threads on here about puppies. Yorkie puppies are so very small and need to stay with there Mom until 10-12 weeks old for the nutrition and socialization that they need. When they are so little, they are also prone to be hypoglycemic which could result in death if not treated correctly. I would get some nutrical (this helps with hypogycemia) for puppies from Petsmart (it comes in a tube like toothpaste) and start using it according to directions. Also, until she gets all her shots I would refrain from bringing her in public too much. (She is very vunerable being so little) I hope that you take this as advice and not criticism....... I LOVE my little Yorkies, and hope that that you have good luck with yours!!! ....... the advice about bringing her back to her mom for a few weeks would be a wonderful idea..... it would be so beneficial to the little Yorkie girl! |
