Quick Help! Rosie is having contractions. No pups in birth canal....is this the cervix dilating? With my other mama she had contractions and the pups came right away. |

She seems to be pushing. She was licking quite a bit earlier and it may have been the water sac. She is definetely having contractions. No pups in birth canal yet. |
My other girl had contractions and the pups came right away. Rosie started having frequent contractions the past 15-20 min here. |
How long should I let her push without having a pup in the canal? |
I would give her alittle more time to see if there is a pup coming, make sure if you see a sac don't open it , it may be a puppy |
do you have any calsorb, I would give her some it will help with contractions:) |
membranes just broke maybe contracttions will be more productive now |
Hang in there girl!:) |
I ran her to the emergency vet because contractions were not producing anything. By the time I was walking in to see the doctor she had the first one! Then a second while I was there. The 3rd came out umbilical cord first..clotted...so the pup was stillborn. He was a male...2 3/4 oz. So far I have two females one 3 oz and the other 3 1/8 oz. There is more to come! At least one more I feel in there! I hope all goes well with this one. |
Sorry about the loss of the one pup. Congrats on the other two and I hope the rest are delivered smoothly |

Congrats on the healthy pups! I can understand your anxiety :) |
Rosie Had Her Pups! 4 Attachment(s) We had a LONG night! Rosie had 4 pups...2 girls, 2 boys. One male was stillborn. Rosie's sister had a pup that was born the same way...the vet said it is not common. The umbilical cord blood coagulates(clots) and the umbilical cord came out first followed by the pup. I still tried to revive it, but he never did take a breath. Poor little guy...he weighed 2 3/4oz. The two girls weighed 3 oz and 3 1/8 oz. The last to be born was our chubby little guy weighing in at 4oz. The sac broke awhile before Rosie delivered him! I could see through a pea sized opening the little guys nose and mouth!! When she pushed his little tongue would stick out! I had to put sterile gloves on and gently help him out. After I suctioned him and rubbed him and Mama licked him like crazy he started breathing right away!! All of them pooped and nursed right away! I do not believe the last placenta has passed. My vet said that if she hasn't passed it by this afternoon to bring her in. I will bring her in either way just to check her out. Here are a few photos. The first photo is of Rosie having her 2nd contraction. I put a washcloth in front of her just in case she threw up as she did with her first contraciton. She didn't throw up anymore though. The second photo is of her 1st born girl. The 3rd photo is of her having contractions for her 4th pup. The 4th photo is of her feeding her pups. I will get some more today!:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:angel2dl::dog zzz: |
