HOw often do you feed your pups? 2 Attachment(s) Lilah's babies will be 4 weeks old on Saturday (wow! time flies!). I started giving them mushy puppy food a couple days ago, but my question is, how often do I give it to them? I've been giving it a couple times a day. Is this too little, or too much? Thanks for the help! Here's a couple of pics from their first meal! Attachment 261333 Attachment 261334 |
Wow, that is one big bunch of puppies....they are so cute. What are they eating? When I wean puppies I just grind up some quality dry puppy food in a blender until it is real fine. I put a small double bowl of this in their x-pen and they just eat when they feel like it. It is simple to wean them that way. Is your momma still nursing them? |

Yes, you should grind it into a powder. I always grind it very fine then pour it in a colander/strainer to get out any bigger pieces. I grind up several cups at a time and put it in an air tight container so I can just add to their bowl as needed. I find the small double sided bowls they sell at Wal-mart work the best. I put the food in both sides of the bowl and I put out another bowl for the water. You don't have to worry about them choking. They will just lick the ground up food. |
Have you ever tried the dry Chicken Soup puppy food? It is a much higher quality food than the Purina. Purina has a lot of corn in it and is not as satisfying. Just a thought. |

Here is a link to their website so you might be able to find a dealer near you. Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul : Home I always wean my puppies on the Chicken Soup puppy food but my adults eat Canidae. |
