Congratulations!!! |
Thank you. She still hasn't passed the last placenta, but it's right there. I hope all the nursing will help that along. She's such a good mama |
Congratulations on your new litter. I pray momma and babies do well. |
Hey Nancy I am so glad the puppies and Princess are doing well. They are nice sizes The nursing should help her to pass that placenta. If your vet is open, you may want to have him give her a oxytocin shot to clean her out. Some vets are in until 12 on Saturdays. If she hasn't passed it soon I would run her in if he is open. You guys did a great job!!! |
I talked to the vet and he said if she is nursing she should pass it shortly. I could take her to Brewer tomorrow if it becomes a real issue. They are nursing well. Little girl's umbilical cord looks good, thank heavens. I put a little more betadine on it too. Thanks so much for all the good advice! |
Congrats on your new babies. Please posts pics when you can. We love those baby pics! ~Kathy:animal-pa |

Congrats! We are still waiting! lol |
pics 1 Attachment(s) Here are some pics. I am taking her and the babies to the vet tomorrow morning to get checked out and dew claws and dock. Princess is doing well. I may give her a bath tonight. The washcloth bath isn't cutting it. The puppies are gaining steadily. They wail heartedly when Mama leaves the whelping pen and when they are hungry. How am I ever going to let them go? I am truly blessed! Thanks for all the great advice. She loves the whelping pudding! |
Awww, sweet babies. I am glad momma and babies are doing so well. It is hard to let them go. Are you planning on keeping any? That is when it is really hard, deciding which one to keep. Good luck at the vets tomorrow. |
Alls well with the little ones and Mama. Vet checked her out last week when I took the little ones for their dew claws and tails. It went pretty well. I was more nervous than I needed to be. The babies are near 14 ounces now at 10 days and her milk is satisfying them. I had to trim their little front paws as I imagine their little claws have been scratching her. I will post pics of the little pudgeballs when I get a chance :) |
