Lost a puppy..
 
Jenna had a boy and girl but we lost the girl. I worked with her for a long time but couldn't get any response. I am so upset. I am ready to give it up.

The boy is nursing and moving around alot. I am still worried he only weighed 2.5ounces.

I am just so sad...

Melissa, I am so very sorry - what a tragedy. It is so very hard to lose a new born. I will keep you in my thoughts :hug: and prayers :hands: .

Hi luv. My baby just gave birth at 11:48 not sure how to tell what sex it is?? Help...lol...

Ok she had 2 and one also didn't make it. Mine is also doing the same. Mine weights 5oz. Wow yours is small!! Good luck ...

aww I am so sorry you lost one too.

Look on the belly. If it is a boy the penis will be right under the cord. A girl has it lower down between her legs.

So I had 2 girls...yes that makes me sad that one had to die.

Have joy for the one that lived and don't be depressed. You have 1 that is alive so put all your strenght into that one. I am in the same boat as you and am very happy that 1 made it. I can't do anything for the breech baby that died but can move on and pray that this one stays health...

I have video of both but deleted the first birth for obvious enough reasons. Her name is Lucky Star or Twinkle... just because her sister didn't make it.

Be happy your little one will live and just pray. Keep baby warm! Will send you pics.

Now that it has all sank in. I had a hard time sleeping and tried to figure out what else I could have done. Some things are beyond our control.

I am sad but you know what... We are soo lucky to still have 1 that made it. Stay strong or your baby will sense that you are sad.

I too have went over and over what happened. It all happened so fast it is like a blur. I keep thinking maybe I could have done something different.

My boy is having trouble latching on. I have been helping him about every hour. Not sure if he is getting anything.

I am so sorry about the girl. If the boy is still very young I don't think 2.5 pounds is underweight.

He is 2 ounces not 2 pounds.

Our babies look alike and maybe even the same size. I'd try to supplement with goats milk or the puppy formula also. Feed with the bottle or dropper like you said then put pup on mom to nurse.

I posted pics for you too see in the nursery. I looked over the vid of the birth and the puppy was stuck. I tried to assist but took too long. Waited for a contraction and nothing worked. I had no control. The pup head may have been a little to big and that is why it was stuck.

Anyways post a vid of your baby if you can. My prays are with you.

So sorry about the loss of your puppy. I know how hard that is, with Sassy's last litter, one little guy just didn't survive. My daughter and I tried so hard, but sometimes for whatever reason is just happens. Hopefully, your little girl will pull thru and thrive, hugs to you.

Congratulations on you new little boy. I hope that by now he has learned to latch on to mama and is doing better. Be sure to keep him warm and weigh him often to be sure that he is gaining weight and more importantly, not losing any.

I am also sorry for the loss of the little girl. That has got to be tough, but don't be hard on yourself & don't give up. Just look at that little boy and marvel at the miracle of him.

Awe...just seeing this now. So...so sorry for the loss of your little girl. It doesn't get easy losing them...even if you have been breeding a while.
Your little boy may need to be tubed for a day or two until he gets strong enough to nurse on his own.

Please keep us updated on him.

So true! I lost my very first pup ever!! First for mom and me. It was so sad she tried to revive her and I did cpr and nothing. Then to make matters worse she was look for it after!! Broke my heart. It bothers me to the point where I felt like I was going through the pain. Now I just count my lucky stars that my second baby is growing and gaining weight by the second!

She brings me joy that I lost from the first pup.

How is baby doing?

I am worried about mine. He has not gained anything. He is not crying and his belly seems full. He moves and wiggles around great. Just worried he has not gained any. He still has trouble feeding. I have to help him latch on. I have been doing this about every 2 hours.

I'd try tubing him then because my little girl was 5.1 when she was born and she is now 6.2oz. That is all in just over 24hrs. Btw my baby cries and is a suck she always wants boob.

He should be gaining. Maybe to weak to cry so tube or feed with a dropper like you suggested before.

Awwww, I'm just now seeing this. I'm sorry you lost the girl. I know how it feels and its NEVER easy!!!

how is the boy doing??? What I always do is give my babies a drop of nutri-drops when they are born...it always gives them a boost of strength. Do you have any?

Also, if he isn't gaining, I would also suppliement him. Its worth a try , just to make sure he is getting enough. I find that premie babie nipples work best, but if he's real tiny it may not owrk, even a dropper would be ok.

Just to make sure...is milk coming out of his nose at all? How is the roof of his mouth?

I hope he is eating better for you! Keep me posted!
