So, all the pics I've seen lately of your fur babies have been on your bed......do they leave any room there for YOU? Will Blossom be having her puppies on your bed too?:D | Rose, Chizziewink ALWAYS whelps in bed - under the covers plastered up next to my leg or my husband's leg. It is such a honor to know that she is that comfortable with us that she wants to share her babies with us.
It really works well, actually. I gather up a bunch of clean washable potty pads plus a few disposable ones, towels, a wet washcloth, wet wipes, a good hot cup of coffee and some snacks for me), plus all of the normal whelping supplies and settle in. I become a "whelping prisoner" and until the pups have safely arrived and have nursed I don't leave the bed. I can see exactly what is going on, watch contractions and can detect problems immediately.
If I have my way, my girls will always whelp in bed. :D |
