Oh What a Night......
 

....didn't get a good nights' rest, that's for sure.
To set up my story:
- Lexie & Halle have got to be separated because Lexie does not like Halle
- Halle is in standing heat, but will not be bred this time as it's her first:eek:
- Toby wants Halle...............really bad! :dribble:
- Obviously, Toby & Halle need to be kept apart or at lease very closely monitored when they are together.
- Lucky (is neutered), so not too much of a problem....gets along with all

So, we go to bed as usual....Halle in a crate, the other 3 loose in the bedroom with us. No problem. About an hour or more later, Halle's whining, Toby's whining/barking & scratching at Halle's crate, Lexie's pacing at all that's going on. Hubby and I aren't sleeping:rolleyes:

1st fix: Halle and I retreat to the spare bedroom.
Didn't work; Toby's still barking/crying, scratching at the bedroom door, Lexie's barking at him and/or wanting to be where I am. Hubby and I are not sleeping :tired: Hmmm, what next? :thinking:

2nd Fix: I leave Halle in the spare bedroom & I retreat back to my own bed (Halle is the BEST at accepting being in a crate or behind a baby gate).
So okay, that worked with just minor whines from Toby for a little while.......maybe 15-20 minutes. Then Halle decided she didn't want to be alone after all & everytime she whimpered, barked (her shrill high pitched bark), Lexie would jump off our bed to the bedroom door & back up again. Oh, did I mention it's about 3am now? Let's see, what can I try next? :scratchhe

3rd Times the Charm: Time to get the armor out:p
Wanting to get SOME sleep last night, I decide it's time for some closely monitored "play" time for Halle & Toby. So, I put Toby in his belly band and Halle in her GoFetch panties AND a onesie type clothing. The two of them and I retreat to the spare bedroom and for about 15-20 minutes I watch them with my eagle (but tired) eyes while they "play". Then finally, Halle got bored, Toby got tired, and they both fell asleep. :clapsmile SUCCESS!

Just thought I'd share my first experiance at having a stud in the house. I've read many a story about the antics of how the boys are when a female is in heat and now I've experianced it firsthand. Guess I can cross another thing off my "wanting to experiance everything there is to do with yorkies" list.:)

I can certainly relate to all that. Just be careful though with your girl in heat because while you are sleeping they could 'undress' each other. These little guys can be very sneaky. I hope you get more rest tonight.

LOL Kim......why am I not surprised at your reaction to my nighttime dilema? Maybe because you just went through it a few weeks ago?:rolleyes: Seriously, we gotta laugh about it or it would drive us completely mad!

So I've heard.....but unless they can put their clothes back on, we're okay. They were both still completely clothed when I woke up and found them sleeping. I must add that the velcro on Des' GoFetch panties is like superman strength; even I have a hard time pulling it apart!

OMG Rose .. sorry but I just have to laugh.. if you need a break I'll take one or the other for a day or two.. ;) that may help alittle

Been there, done that. I have a really loud dehumidifier in my bedroom now...lol. If somebody is in heat the boys sleep in the living room and sometimes they do scratch at the door...but I try not to hear it. You think that's bad...be lucky you only have ONE boy...try keeping the WRONG male away from a female you're breeding while you're trying to breed the other one to her...lol that's a challenge when they're all sleeping in your bed or you're sitting in the living room watching a movie and they're all chasing each other around trying to get belly bands, diapers, and clothes off. :rolleyes:

2 unhappy boys in the house cause it's not going to happen - diapers, belly bands, gates, doors, and ear plugs:p
