i have a almost 3 year old that is pregant. I dont know when she would be due. She was bred oct.4th - 7th. I get different answers. The 2nd. Time i took her in to the vet the doctor just looks at her and say's that she wasn't pregant before he even feels. I told him that she was and i could feel the puppies moving.
well after i showed him that she was . He said it felt like only one. Which i kind of think that their is 2 her tummy is big up high and i can feel movement down low.
well he didn't feel that we needed to do a x-ray ,just if she doesn't deliever in 4 hours after her water breaks bring her in.
if she does have only one , it may be to big for her.
if anyone knows kinda how you would tell for which date i would go by & how to guess how many.
he had said to check her temp.which i did and it was 98.3 one day the next 99.6:(

Her first due date should be the 5th, but you never know when they decide it's time! With her temp that low she should be starting any time!

Honey, I will tell you what you may not want to hear. But if MY vet was telling me they don't need an x-ray and isn't sure if she is pregnant, that would clue me in to finding another vet as soon as possible. MANY vets have no idea how to whelp a litter from a yorkie. They are not like whelping a bigger dog. So many things can and do go wrong. For one thing, 4 hours after the water breaks is TOO long. Mine has had 2 litters and neither time did her "water break". Not so I could tell. She would be due 63 days from her ovulation date. Without a test to tell when she was ovulating, your next best guess is 63 days from the first tie. From now until she delivers I would not leave her alone at all. I think I would call around and see if you can find another vet nearby that has some experience with whelping issues and toy dogs. I wish you luck with your girl and hope all goes well.

Here first date would be Dec 7. You need to ck temp am and pm same time evryday. I will send you pm

I have to agree with the previous poster that said it's time to find a new vet! :thumbup:

That being said, you always estimate the due date counting from the date of the FIRST tie. :)

If you are nervous about her whelp, try to find an experienced breeder who would be willing to come and asist you when the time comes.

The only other thing I have to say is.Why did you wait the last min to find out all this.I'm not saying this to be mean.It just this is a very serious issue.You should of read everthing you got your hands on about whelping puppies.Your mom is depending on you.You should have a breeder mentor till you get confortable with it.Go get her xray ,make a appiotment somewhere is.

I did get a new doctor for her, did get her x-ray done. we use to breed boxers i know that they are a bigger breed,but i knew what goes on.
i just wanted more info i read different things about it and it was confusing me .
I would read one thing ,then the next was different so i wanted to hear it from some people that does this stuff. thats it .
I couldnt help that i had got a non caring doctor.
she is doing fine,as well as her little girl. she had sat early morning by c-cection.

No honey I was not being mean,I wish you would of asked sooner.So glad she did well.Vet dont always know everything,most just what they are taught.if they dont breed there self then they have no clue.
Next time when your ready,I would like to help you and anyone her would as musch as we can.Send pictures

thanks ! I know what you mean now about doctors not knowing alot. The doctor that helped mia out was great. I know who i will be seeing.
i was wondering if you would know how much we should pay the people for the stud fee? Just incase they ask.
since we only had one pup.
i dont know if they had wanted one or what . They haven't even came by to see her yet.
i guess we were more excited then they were.
