need some answers ? please I am new to females..... Do they act different when they are going to go in heat? What are the signs to watch for when going heat? How long are they in heat? Do I need to do anything when she comes in heat? I am sorry that I am so dumb, but I have looked all over and can't find any info on when they come in heat. So any info that you can give me would be nice. I do have 2 boys and they are both neutered. I have a pen sit up for her in another part of the house with 3 doors between them for when she does come in heat. But I would like to have her in there before she does come in heat. She will be 7 mon old this month. I'm sorry that I am so dumb and stupid with these questions |
You should be okay Lynda if they are both fixed. Heats last 21 days, my girls will start humping the boys, and act somewhat different at first, you may want to get some diapers to put on her when she bleeds, just be thankful your boys aren't going to drive you crazy during this!:D |
Don't bet on that ( the boys driving her crazy) My males are all neutered and I have one who even tied with my female when she was in heat |

She already does that to the boys. I find her humping them.... |
If the other dogs, (both male and female) start to show an increased in sniffing her butt, that is usually a sign that she is coming into heat. Some girls get moody and snappish, some get very lovey and clingy. I never notice any bleeding with mine. Her vulvas will become enlarged also. |

Thank you again everybody for all your info |
My cousin's miniature poodle that was neutered tied with her female shih tzu when she came into heat. Totally freaked her out because she was not expecting it because he was fixed. So do not be alarmed if this happens. She may get moody and snappy with those boys if they are in her business too much. |
