EVER HEARD OF RUBY T CREEKBAUM inFL Ruby advertised AKC YORKIES for sale so my husband and I went to her home last Sat. She told me on the phone that she was a “kennel” (whatever that means) When we got there she led us to a bedroom at the end of her hall. She said it would be noisy when we go in. OMG, :eek:when the bedroom door opened, these dogs went crazy mad, barking and jumping uncontrollably in their own cages. The 12 wk yorikes were in one and THEN, there was a rabbit pen which had (5) 5-6wk pup’s….I was in love :animal36 We took the 12wk F out to the kitchen area to get a better look at her. She really wasn’t the cuddly, wanting to be held type and when we let her down she wasn’t interested in us too much either. My first question is this, do dogs that are caged like that eventually lead to behavioral issues as adults. I know they are only 12wk old but I have my guard up about WHAT I buy. Ruby said she let them out several times a day and she held each of them individually. The pup didn’t seem to want to be held by me as much as I wanted to hold it. Before we left my mind was made up that I wanted one of her pup in a few weeks. So I called Ruby last night to let her know she said to call her later in the month. I called this morning and asked her last name so I could check w/ AKC. She wouldn’t give it to me and said she doesn’t advertise that and when I told her WHY, she said all I needed to do was call AKC…..OK, well I need to give them something to reference YOU.:rolleyes::cool: She got upset and said for me not to call her again and she wouldn’t sell a pup to me!!!! As a breeder’s out there wouldn’t you be impressed with a potential mommy/daddy that cares as much as we do to take the time to research YOU as breeders do us??? Am I wrong here, I’m upset if she thought I offended HER but I want to make sure I’m buying from a legit breeder and I’m paying the price for what she’s TELLING me about her pups?? Is this wrong? :confused: :cool:PS I guess she isn’t familiar with reverse look up on phone number’s b/c that’s how I got her name, so now it’s out there and this is all I wanted to do??? Any one who know of her please let me know. She lives in Pinellas CO, FL |
I would NEVER buy a pup from someone who keeps their dogs in conditions like those you have described! In a rabbit pen for crying out loud!? :mad::thumbdown |

I should have added that it is horrible that she kept them in little cages in a bedroom! How many dogs were in there? Rabbit cages??? Good grief. The fact that she wouldn't tell you her last name says a lot right there. She is obviously trying to hide something. |
Is shows RUBY T CREEKBAUM in the white pages with the correct phone numner and address we went to??? Know what's interesting, when we were there she pulled out a "blue" book and said one of her pup's was show quality adn it placed, that alot oh er dogs sold have placed??? Well she opened the book and pointed but not long enough to make note of anything let alone the details. She wouldn't even give me her last name when i called her this morning adn asked me not to call her agan, maybe, b/c she knew i was researching what i could, thought about what i might find out....D/K just a hunch now!!!!!:rolleyes: |
She had one rabbit cage with the 5-6 wk old litter and about 10 other "cages" with the adults and 2 which had teh 12wk old pups.... Well I'm sure now she wishes didn't talk to me at ALL, i've since spoken to local AKC breeders and brought her name up, none which heard of Ruby. Second of all, one breeder mentioned someone she knew was getting inot tracking at home puppy mills, she took my info in case she needed to contact me in the future.... I fell bad that the situation went south, but then again, I'm a believer in THINGS HAPPEN FOR A REASON, |
