Size in breeding In breeding, will it hurt the female if the male is larger? The female is 6lbs and the male is 10lbs! What are your thoughts on this? :animal36 |
male IMO a male at 10 pounds is too big to be used at stud. I have used many males who were larger then my female, but did not exceed 6 to 7 pounds. I would not select a 7 pound male to be used with a 4 pounder, but at 5 plus pounds has not resulted in any problems for my bitches. I would look for a male in the 4 to 6 pound range for a first time breeding..good luck. |
