:thumbup: Thank you but with that said LOL...I'm not looking for anyone to be impressed with how I do things it's what is ethical and responsible and I just wish every breeder did the same thing. Starting over with a breeding program is not easy and it can be discouraging and heart breaking but with the love and passion for this breed it's the only choice one can have in my opinion. |

I think there are many breeders that would have refunded the $1,500 ( full price) for the pup and let her keep the pup. ( myself included) As a breeder, I would also feel very fortunate to have found a owner that loved this pup so much that she was willing to keep the pup, and pay the large vet bills, and spend the time helping the pup recover, to give this puppy a great life. Bleu is a very lucky dog to have a mom like you ! ;) |

Back to the original definition, a congenital defect is one present at birth. It may, or may not, also be inherited. The terms are NOT mutually exclusive. One can have a congenital defect that is hereditary or one can have a congenital defect that is from some other cause. Unfortunately veterinary science is light years behind establishing the causes of most congenital defects compared to human medicine, so breeders have to weigh the pros and cons of re-breeding when a litter results in a puppy with a congenital defect of unknown cause. |
