its 6:30 am and still no pups.. She started panting during the night and it stoped. i can still feel she is having contractions but not close together. I just chewed up a tums and she ate it from my hand. She is still digging and breathing hard. It will be 24 hours since the lowest temp drop at 8am and that is when my vet opens. What should i do. She has been licking herself alot too. melissa |
Hi - just checking in before I head off to work. Expected to see that puppies had arrived. Well at this point I'm not sure what to tell you as I can only "read" what you are telling us and not actually "see" what is (or isn't) happening. So with that, I would suggest to "go with your gut" as they say. Maybe she has a pup that is to big to pass or in a bad position and that is why things aren't progressing, or maybe it's nothing. I'd at least call the vet to see what they suggest or at least have them check her out. I can't remember, did you have an xray? If so, did everything check out okay as far as position & size of the pups? I will be checking back sneaking a peek from work once or twice....hope all goes well; I'll say a prayer. Good luck to you! We are all anxious to see those babies! |

Still no little ones!? |
she is pushing since 7:45!!!! |
vet said to get out of the room and leave her alone and check on her every 20 min. if she does not have a pup by 10;30 then call back. |
Well lets hope we see some little ones soon. She should be getting VERY close... |
i just checked on her and she is pushing hard. Looks like a water bag is visible ( very small). does her water break first? then the puppy in the sac. |
She should deliver soon.... Good luck!! |
I was just wondering any puppies I have been following this thread any puppies? How is she doing? |

Yay! Congrats Melissa! I'm glad everything went well! Did you see the placentas come out? If not, you may want to take mama in for a check up today for a shot of oxytosin. My vet also did a shot of antibiodic to be on the safe side. I'm glad all went well. Now it's time for some much needed rest!! |
both placentas came out she ate both. she did practically everything on her own i just broke the sacks for her and suctioned them at first. she is a great mommy |
