Where do you go to report a BAD dishonest Breeder?!?!?!?
 

I am so upset right now I am shaking. The Breeder is not giving me my money back nor is she giving me my puppy. She has told me every day since Monday that I can pick up the puppy and each day that I drive 5 hours to get the puppy 2 1/2 hrs up and 2 1/2 hrs back just to find out that the puppy is not going to be available that day. Actually on Monday she tried to give me a puppy that had adult teeth, hair parted and 1/4 to the floor and 3 times the size of the my mom's dog. Then she said I can get him on Thursday I drive down and wait for her call that never came, and when I called her she said she got the dates mixed up and I couldn't get the puppy till the next day. I drove back down today and she said she has decided to keep the puppy for another couple of weeks to make sure he is healthy. Can she do that???? Can she keep telling me that I can have the dog and then when the day comes, she says no, wait till next week????? I have caught her in sooooo many lies, it is ridiculous. As far as when the puppies are going to the vet, when they are getting their shots, where the pups are, everything she has said has turned out to be a lie. My mom's puppy she got from her now has Ringworm, and this has just turned into a nightmare. I do not know what to do. Should I wait? Should I look else where for a puppy? Should I sue her? Can I report her? Someone please help me with information????

Yes, she can do that, but she should give your money back and wait until the pup is ready to go. AKC considers these things a civil matter and refuse to get involved..but you can ask that a letter of complaint be put in her records. Make a complaint to animal control and call her vet and tell them how you are being treated...might keep them from giving her name out for pups. I would call her and tell her she has 3 days to refund your money in full or you will go to small claims court. Legally, a breeder can not hold your money until they are ready to release a pup.
If she is a member of the Yorkshire terrier club you can report her..they hate stuff like that and will talk to her and try to resolve it.
I would not want a puppy from a breeder who has ringworm in the kennel...what a nightmare.

I looked up the Puppy Lemon Law and found that she has 10 days from the day the pup passed to refund my money or give me a replacement puppy at MY choice! She said I chose a puppy, but I wasn't given a choice and that was when she said the puppy would be available in 2 weeks not 4 weeks. And nothing was done in writing. Plue the puppy was not available at the time she promised it to me. The only problem is that the Vet hasn't sent me the Death Certificate on my puppy and I need that. The Florida Dept Of Agriculture knew exactly who I was talking about, and they guessed her name as soon as I gave them the city of the breeder/pet store owner. That is never a good sign. I think I am going to look for a puppy else where, file a complaint against her, take her to court, and hope to get my money back.

Yes, I'd call the cops too in her city too, as she hasn't given you what you paid for! That's ridiculous! Best of luck to you in finding a new puppy! :)

My husband has bought me a yorkie as a surprise and a companion for our pomeranian. Bless his heart but he just had no idea what to look for in a healthy puppy. He brought home the puppy with only a receipt to show as her records. It only said the names of the pup's parents and her date of birth (January 5, 2005). We went to the vet the following day and was faced with tons of health problems. Not only did pickles have parasites in her ears, she's also anemic and weighed only 1.2 lbs. The vet told us that if her blood count would drop 5 more points that she'd be considered for blood transfusion. I was so upset and even considered returning her. We tried calling the breeder (home phone disconnected)and even drove 4 hours just to see her. To no avail, we had to return home and put a stop payment on the check made out to her. After 2 weeks we receive a letter threatening to sue us if we dont pay her or return the puppy. We confronted her about pickles' health problems and that we don't intend to return her (god forbid the pup dies in her hands given that it was almost dying when we got her) but would appreciate if she subtracted all the vet bills from the original price my husband agreed to pay for. We fax her all the vet bills and after an hour I receive a phone call from her. She said she would only pay for the Albon and the other medication totaling $54.00. She didn't even ask how the puppy was doing. Suming all the vet bills it would come out to almost $400. I most certainly am not running away from our payment responsibilities but I won't let this woman get away with this.

The place to start would be the district attorney in the state that the breeder resides in. Then work from there. They should be able to advise you on what you would have to do.

since this seller/breeder has a history of complaints I would have someone write her a letter for you a three day demand including the places that you will notify if your demand is not met in a timely manner.

If she doesnt comply within the three days file a small claims suit, notify the better business bureau, AKC or the known pet registry, your states attorney office, file a complaint with the state dept of agriculture, your local dog control agency. She will hate this and might just wake the woman up!

Yeah, I think she CAN do that but it's horrible that she's choosing to do that. Maybe, you can actually tell her to CALL you before you take your time to drive down there! Thats just ridiculous.

I agree and you need to do everything you can - lots of people sued tiny darlings when she kept their money AND they never got their puppy...I believe some got their money back - but it takes persistence and LOTS of determination ...you poor thing - that's AWFUL of her - I would go after her with everything I had and talk to an attorney for a free consult too - A GOOD attorney.....they may help you with what else you can do ....GOOD LUCK !!!

I'm looking for a little sister for my Mia and I'd hate to end up with this kind of people, not only because of the hassle for me but mainly, if we keep buying from dishonest people, they'll keep doing it. The breeder I got my dog from was very dishonest and lied to me about immunizations and didn't have a health certifiicate. Everything she told me was a lie. I was naieve and stupid for falling for whatever she told me, but what was I to know, this was my first time buying a dog...? All you can do is file a complaint and they will take it to a small claims court and hopefully you can get money or whatever it is out of her that you want. Im waiting on my complaint to go through or whatever it has to do, then hopefully I can take the breeder that screwed me over to a small claims court and get her to pay all of my dogs vet hopspitalization bills. :rolleyes:

I am taking her to court. Currently our court date is set for May 27th. I have the Florida Statute stating that she had 10 days to provide me with a replacement pup or a refund, I have the Certificate Of Health from her Vet showing the puppy was diagnosed with Giardia just 3 days after I got him from her, and I have in my posession the Death Certificate showing the Dog died from complications of Giardia and a Bacterial Infection in his blood. I am suing her for the price of the dog and the cost of suing her which was an additional $250.00. I also had to get advice from an attorney and due to the puppy's condition I had to have both my children tested and treated for Giardia. I also had to drive to her house 81 miles on 4 occasions that she promised me a replacement puppy and never came through with it. Anyways, I haven't heard anything from her, but her Vet has been very helpful getting me (after ALOT of persistence) all the paperwork I need to prove my case. We will see if she delays our court date but for now it is set for May 27th. I will update you on what happens.

The name of the breeder is Dixie Pups in either North Miami Beach, FL or Hallandale, FL. DO NOT buy from this dishonest breeder that has her sick puppies shipped in from Chille!!!
